A murder of a little girl committed on Christmas day by her brother has no justification whatsoever. To have it pinned on his younger brother is bad enough. Coming back 20 years later to tell the story from his own perspective seems like restitution though. An intriguing story in all. Thank you for your insightful review.

A murder story told from the perspective of the murderer is interesting. To know that the murder was a result of child abuse makes it go from scary to tragic for me. Thank you for the review.

The cover of the book had me thinking this was a different story to tell. I am pleased with this review and after reading the first two pages of this book, I know I want to continue- thanks for the great review .

I’m not a fan of stereotyping either, but this book is fictional. The author has creative license to do as desired. You make an interesting point about the applicability of this fiction to reality. I'm also usually and professionally concerned about child protection issues.

The cover of the book is very appealing though it instantly reminded me of a particular real-life murder. In some respects it can be beneficial to hear from the perpetrators point of view, but it is not easy to read graphical scenes of abuse. Can parents learn something from reading a story like this, I can hope they might. Thanks for the insightful review.

This is an intriguing story. But some elements of this book may not be tolerable to some readers. Regardless, congrats BOTD.

Your review gave me enough information to know that this book is not for me. Although I do appreciate the premise of the book, I don’t want to read it as it could leave me to associate Christmas with murder and I’d rather shy away from the male stereotypes included in the story line.

A book about a murder from the point of view of the murderer is unusual. However, a story in which men are portrayed as freaks who think about sex 24/7 and get turned on when children wear revealing outfits to beauty pageants didn't catch my eye. So, I'll skip this one.

This is an interesting perspective; the #BOTD was created from a murderer's point of view. I wonder why the mother dismissed her son's pain? This is going on my want to read shelf.

This book is unique and has an intriguing storyline. I am very interested in learning about the human psyche. What makes people commit these heinous crimes? What is going on in their minds? The content seems really disturbing, so I think I will pass. Thanks for the informative review.

This fiction about a murderer's recount of a childhood crime sounds like it promises to be a very chilling read. And although I am quite sensitive to narratives about child abuse and child violence, there is something magnetic about Christmas Murder. I have already added it to my shelves; thanks for the great review!

I agree with you that the murder's perspective is interesting. The child abuse topic is an important one to shed a light on. I'm also glad the author didn't include too many details. Wonderful review.
