It's interesting that you mentioned wacky/zany mysteries. In this book, there is a nice blend of wacky characters and one serious character, Lt. Morales. He is very "old school" in his investigative approach.

A murder mystery on a cruise ship? I have to see this.

Thanks for a good review. I like that you mentioned all the key players of the novel.

I liked that the story didn't take place exclusively on the cruise ship. A good chunk of the plot takes place off the ship. This made the story more interesting.

Thank you for appreciating that I mentioned the different characters. It was challenging to write a cohesive summary, since there were so many characters.

Thanks! I am also a fan of crime shows. The main character in this book would be a great fit for a TV series.

Great review! I enjoy reading your reviews in general, and this one grabbed my attention because it's a mystery. Your description reminds me of a modern-day version of a Hercule Poirot mystery. I'm kind of a sucker for brooding, meticulous male detectives. I'm going to have to give this one a look see.

Thanks for the compliments! I agree with you about the Hercule Poirot comparison. I also have a weakness for meticulous detectives. In my case, they don't even have to be brooding! I just like the classic way a crime is solved.
