Gilly and Sally's decision to keep a dead baby is startling. And, I want to see how author Lea O'Harra has handled the theme of hatred in this riveting crime thriller.

How horrifying for twelve-year-old girls to find a dead baby in a shoebox in a cemetery! Why they chose to keep it a secret and bury it is beyond me! Then add child abductions to the plot, which is enough to scare me out of town! I wonder how Gilly and Sally finally solve the mysteries of their hometown in Indiana.

I usually like thrillers, but one with a dead baby might just be too much for me. I'll pass on this book.

Crime book about Gilly whose narration of twenty-six years back about a baby that her friend Sally found in the woods is a thirilling story with lots of turn overs, very interesting and highly recommended :?:

This a book worth reading. Who left the baby's body? What instigated the girls to hide the body? What is the motive behind the subsequent abductions? I love books like this.

I enjoyed reading this review more than sampling the first chapter of this book. I personally found the sample too macabre - there was no positive crutch to hold on to in Gilly's story of her arrival at her family home or in her memories of her childhood - why on earth did she and Sally choose a cemetery for their playground?! And Fluffy licking the dead baby's face felt horrible. I am a fan of crime fiction but not so grotesque.

A crime thriller with horror elements, Gilly's tale appears to be rife with unfavorable emotions like guilt, anger, and contempt. I wonder whether that has anything to do with the children who died. Nice review!

Some of the things that we do when we are young can haunt us later on in the future, and this was the case for Gilly and her friend Sally, as their actions haunted or affected them years later, even if they were kids when the event took place. Nice review.

The description seems interesting enough to put the book on the shelf for further reference, but definitely not calling me to read it right away. To be honest, I am mostly freaked out by the mere fact of twelve years old kids deciding to keep a dead baby they found in the woods. Still, congratulations on BOTD!

Thank you for the nice review .It's really intriguing, even if it's not my usual type of book,it leaves me wanting to find out Gilly's story and more about the others characters.
