Yep! Wow. It could be a matter of opinion, but I thought the ending was great. I also left a review on GR. I liked around five aspects of this book and disliked one aspect. So I'd give it a pretty high rating!

I'm so glad you loved it!! It was so hard reviewing it without giving away too much. The metaphor of the title, and the way the way the story wrapped around it's meaning was amazing, and the bittersweet ending was perfect!!

I completely agree. I thought the title and the ending came together really well, and the meaning behind it just really got to me.

Thank you so much, it brings even more joy to have someone also read the book that you reviewed and feel the same way you did. Heck, even to be able to discuss the book at all is fun, as I have found with the BOTM discussions, but it takes on a different meaning when it is one that you feel you have an extra party in getting out there!!

I agree, and thank you. This book did keep me glued to the computer screen until past my bedtime on Monday night (when I finished it). I'd forgotten that feeling of, "I have to keep reading! I'm not going to bed at all without knowing how it ends!" I thank both you and the author for that! I think maybe I've been choosing bad books lately--a string of bad books, in fact. It always sets me back, too, when I try to read something and get quagmired because the book is just downright bad. I had a feeling about this book, so I took a chance on it, and it drew me in. It got right to the point and jumped into the action. I did have an issue with the last... quarter or so of the book, just wanting to get to the ending already and find out what would happen! But that still puts this book head and shoulders above everything else I've tried to read in the past year or so. I started speed-reading to find out what would happen, and then it did get a bit more interesting with that well-dressed character. (Now that should be analyzed!!) And the ending--bleepity bleep. I loved the ending.

Speed-reading! You must have loved the book to push so fast to get to the ending. I did that a few years ago with Gone Girl.

Ooh, I haven't read GG, but I saw part of the movie and looked up the ending. I was getting impatient with the movie, so I can see speedreading through that book.

You're right! This book grabbed me. I love any theme that involves increased awareness/personal growth, and this book stuck to my heart for that reason, in a way that involves the symbolism of the title. There was a lot in there that was really good, and also really unique, from a psychological angle.

Gone Girl was a great book....the movie, not so much.

Hmm... it looked long and intimidating, and like it would drag. Like, OK, we get that she's missing, so now let's find out what the deal is several hundred pages later.

I may have to read the book, the movie made me want to kick myself for having watched it.
