Hi. I loved reading Waterworks by Jack Winnick. I agree with everything you said about the book. I had never heard of polonium before reading this book. I learned so much from reading this book including how the Mossad and FBI cooperate, the beauty of Iranian geography and culture, the science of nuclear energy, and the sickening lethality of polonium. It is scary how humans have the propensity to create things that destroy us. So sad. :techie-studyinggray:

Thank you for a well-balanced and detailed review.
It's good that this book can be read as a stand-alone and it is nice to know that Lara and Uri plan to have a family of their own, despite the terror they continuously have to battle against.
This does give a different light and perspective to how those who work in this type of secret service job have to risk their lives and chances of normalcy for the rest of humanity. Overall the book sounds great, the waterworks issue makes me think of the Batman movie a tiny bit, about how quickly a place can either be wiped out / held hostage by their water supply. Congratulations

It’s quite terrifying to think how easily a terrorist groups could attack a system that seems so innocent. Most people wouldn’t think twice about how effective an attack on drinking water could be! It must also be difficult for the recently married couple to have to work separately. Their duties to save humanity must add so much strain to their relationship and makes for a great story!

"Waterworks" is an exciting action thriller which delves into the life of a couple who are secret agents and their commitment to foiling an impending terrorist operation of a grand scale. It sheds light on the challenges of such a career and the effects it has on such deep relationships whilst also providing readers with a thrilling action performance. It is also an educative piece on terrorism and freedom fighting.

The spies' private lives, with their challenges in relationships and with their families, give the story complexity and harmony. This work gives a novel viewpoint on international espionage and is recommended for readers over sixteen due to its easygoing tone, flawless editing, and few problems. Congrats on BOTD.

Wow, what a thorough review! I still cannot say enough that this series does very much interest me (particularly after so many BOTD wins and an incoming Mr. & Mrs. Smith Prime series on the horizon to refresh my interest in this genre). Based on real-world examples we have of water being unfit for consumption amongst communities (just watch Dark Waters), I’m well aware of just how crazy things could get with that intentionally being done as a terrorist act. Absolutely horrific! I can only imagine (hopefully, not too much longer) what measures Lara and Uri take to get all of that chaos handled!

The author's deft storytelling in "Waterworks" is quite impressive. They skilfully weave together a captivating story that immerses readers in the perilous and intriguing lives of Lara and Uri. The author's meticulous attention to detail, especially when describing the intricate workings of terrorist organisations and water systems, demonstrates their commitment to in-depth research. The book's appeal is increased by its distinct chapter arrangement, which makes it both engrossing and simple to read. In addition, it is really commendable that the author was able to produce a spy thriller that is both captivating and understandable.

Waterworks" stands out not only for its exploration of a unique and unsettling threat but also for its ability to blend suspenseful storytelling with educational elements. Winnick's narrative prowess, combined with a well-researched foundation, makes this novel a gripping and thought-provoking read for those intrigued by the intersection of technology, terrorism, and historical context.

Congrats on BOTD!
"Waterworks" authored by Jack Winnick Although Uri and Lara have been married for up to two years, they have not given birth to a child, which makes their story in this intriguing book noteworthy. Both of them are quite keen to start a family. A vacation or a break is required of them. Uri and Lara disguised themselves to go on a mission when they received a call while on vacation.

This is an interesting storyline and finding out how Lara and Uri worked independently to solve this problem would be nice. I also would love to know if they were able to start their family.

Terrorism is not limited to the use of bombs and guns to cause destruction but also science, such as the poisoning of water supplies. The author skillfully blends real-world examples with fiction and facts. The book explains the challenges of working undercover and its impact on the lives of spies like Uri and Lara. Although it is the fifth book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.
