Thank you for an intriguing review. I agree, the author had a beautiful writing style that captivated me when exploring the right-of-passage rituals. The approach to lure the reader into the mystery and terror was done smoothly and efficiently. Tess sounds charming and based on your review, a character that sounds engaging and very strong with the relevant set of skills to handle the case of the Necklan Lake Massacre. I am really curious to find out how this book ends and in particular, who are the forces responsible for the terror.

Congrats on BOTD!
The author skillfully weaves together paranormal and realistic aspects to create a convoluted yet engrossing plot. The primary character, Tess, is renowned for her bravery and intelligence in her work as a forensic science intern.

Thanks for the great review! From your review and the book sample that I read, the book "Nekkid Lake" sounds very intriguing. A murder mystery from the start, "Nekkid Lake," draws you into the story, and you are hungry for more. What happened to the fourteen seniors that prom night?

As compelling as the plot is, with the tragic disappearance of 14 seniors on prom night, the fact that the main character is an intern and a female draws me in. This is going on my list. Congratulations on your BOTD victory!

I have not read the book yet but the review portrays a lot of suspense and intrigue around the lake massacre--Why is it that so many died? Why cant' the only survivor remember anything about that night?

Congrats to the BOTD author! Crime thrillers are one of my favorite genres. I also love the cool introductory pace in the part I sampled. Because of the perfect rating, I have no doubt it was worth the time.

I was engrossed in this novel right up until the very last page. I was engrossed in the mystery and crime with this unexpected villain. The handling of the subject of whether or not it was supernatural was perfect. Congratulations on BOTD.

From the sample that I read, the story unfolds at a lakeside gathering after a prom, where the atmosphere turns ominous. As the night takes an eerie turn, mysterious disappearances and chilling screams grip the once carefree occasion. The writing effectively captures the tension and fear that shrouds the characters, building an intriguing mystery with a foreboding sense of danger. The sudden shift from a festive scene to a chilling one creates a captivating narrative that leaves readers hooked.

Fourteen seniors going missing at the same time is already a strange occurrence. Couple that with no forensic evidence that is usable and the only surviving witness not able to remember anything and we have a great mystery indeed. Thank you for the great review.

I enjoyed reading your review, Adedayo, and especially your insights into Tess' investigation. I sampled a few pages that covered the story of the School Seniors' Party at the Nekkid Lake and the mysterious disappearance of the participants, but I am yet to meet Tess. Now that I've read your review, I look forward to shadowing Tess in her investigation.

After reading the sample and the review, I am trying to figure out what or who was responsible for fourteen missing high school kids. I also can't imagine being the sole survivor and wonder if she gets the help she needs to heal and move forward. Tess Chandler has an intriguing case to crack. This sounds like a captivating mystery! Well done!
