I agree you never know what you'll get with C/M/T/H. It's interesting that the author manages to continue pulling the story along and keep you interested without resorting to elaborate action scenes. The stark difference between the two characters' motivations for Alzheimer's research sounds like it could make both more compelling. After reading the sample, I might end up reading this one eventually. Thank you for your review.

I enjoyed the sample I read from the book and your interesting review even more so. Though this is one of my favorite genres, it's also true that selecting a book in the category can at times feel comparable to choosing a grab bag. Thanks for the recommendation--adding to my WTR list.

With the Suspence in the short review,I personally would like to read the book just to find out the fate of he that loves fame and she that cares about lives. I believe this book must be a very interesting one.

Your review of The Prize by Geoffrey M. Cooper was really helpful. As I read the sample of the book, I understood why you said you could become pretty emotional reading the book because it is so well written and draws the reader into the lives of each of the scientists and then how each looks at getting the all important prize for research and finding a cure. Great review.

I agree that this novel was a real page-turner. The author set up the action really well. It was interesting how people with different agendas got together to undermine the work of a scientist who was genuinely interested in helping others through scientific discovery. But then they all paid a price for their deeds. Great review!

I don't like thrillers, but I enjoy stories with elements of science and psychology. I'm still on the fence about this one. Nice review.

Two scientists racing for a cure for a dreaded disease. A search for fame and fortune. Elements of mystery and intrigue. Interesting characters. Great writing. This one sounds like a winner; I may have to check it out. Thanks for the review, kandscreeley. :techie-studyingbrown:

Waow your review give a reason why this book must be read. Hope the two doctors were able to find the cure at the end. Also I love when a book makes you feels like a silent character following the main protagonist everywhere. Congratulations to the author too.

This book has piqued my curiosity on who will eventually found the cure to Alzheimer's. Eric and Pamela really represented people's motive behind their undertaking in reality.

I love crime/thriller books. A book about two scientists on the race to find the cure for Alzheimer's disease for different reasons and motivations. This is my kind of book. I will love to read it.

I spent several years working as carer with Dementia and Alzheimer's patient so a cure for this awful disease is something I am very interested in. I am curious to see how the author handles the disease and am fascinated by the two different approaches detailed above. I'm a little worried it will be a tough read due to having experience with Alzheimer's disease but any art form that raises awareness of this illness can only be a positive thing.
