A fast-paced thrillers with elements of intrigue, espionage, and high-stakes missions, "East Wind, 2nd Edition" by Jack Winnick seems like a captivating read. The premise of special agents, Lara and Uri, embarking on a secret mission to thwart a dangerous plot against the United States promises an adrenaline-filled narrative full of suspense and action.

The suspenseful nature of covert operations, the threat of a significant conspiracy, and the protagonists' race against time to protect their country add layers of excitement and tension to the story.

In this espionage thriller, "East Wind" by Jack Winnick follows the story of Uri Levin, a member of the Metsada, the Special Operations arm of the Israeli Mossad, and Lara Edmond, FBI's "Golden Girl," who is responsible for primary electronic terrorism traffic. The two agents, Uri and Lara, are tasked with thwarting the terrorists' plans to end U.S. support for the Zionist State. Walid Jahangiri, a young man who falls under the influence of Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Hezbollah, is summoned to carry a fission bomb from Iran. Walid must decide whether to remain faithful to his original beliefs or change sides and help Uri and Lara in their efforts to save innocent lives.

The East Wind brings dust, plague, and famine to the desert, presenting life-and-death situations and a countdown race to stop the terrorist ploy that could force the Israelis to unleash "Ekdikeo," a wholesale nuclear attack on the main hostile capitals of its antagonistic neighbors. The 266-page novel has all the necessary elements for an exciting read, with tension building up gradually towards a climactic confrontation in the final chapters.

The author effectively switches the narrative perspective between characters, ensuring that readers understand the reasons behind their actions. The characters have great background stories that make them realistic and help readers understand the reasons behind their actions. The plot development is respite, with Uri and Lara often exchanging personal and secret intelligence stories, allowing readers to get to know them better.

"East Wind" is a good read for those who enjoy thrillers based on terrorist threats, joint action of government forces, high-level treason, and a budding romance amidst the impending tragedy. The novel has no graphic scenes, offensive language, or detailed erotic scenes, and editing errors are minimal. Overall, the novel is rated 4 out of 4 stars, and the author is willing to follow Lara and Uri's future adventures in the sequel, Devil Among Us.

The story of "East Wind" follows Uri, a Mossad agent, and FBI agent Lara as they work together to locate terrorists before they can attack another city. The book includes a romantic angle, adding an interesting twist to the usual thrilling Lara and Uri series. Congrats to Jack Winnick on BOTD.

One of the standout elements of "East Wind" is the rich character portrayal. Uri Levin and Lara Edmond are not merely one-dimensional heroes; they are complex individuals with their own vulnerabilities and personal struggles. Winnick's attention to detail in fleshing out their backstories and inner conflicts makes them relatable and genuine.

"East Wind 2nd edition” is the first book in a current series of 5 books. The book gives a true look at the inside workings of the anti-terrorist government departments and how the US and Israeli Mossad work together in these efforts. Jack Winnik's knowledge is the factual part of the story, but the specific events are fictional. Anyone who has an interest in understanding more about the continuing tensions with the Middle Eastern countries will benefit and enjoy this book.

Ugh!!! Why do books have to be so good. I mean thriller novel with a hint of romance :lol2:. And such defined characters and amazing plot of the story. The only thing I hate about this is that I'll have to wait for next sequel.
