Im not really into thriller books but after finishing the maze runner 1 and desperately wanting for more, i havent even realized that im hooked with the thrill of reading the rest of the sequel and prequel which definitely gave me all these goosebumps and nightmares..

For anyone that loves a good crime novel you should read the Death By series, the author is J.D. Robb. Wonderful author and series it'll keep your attention and have you caving the next book.

Just finished another in the 'crime/mystery' genre, only I'm not sure what you'd call it. The protagonist isn't a professional detective, the 'whodunnit' doesn't come from a seasoned gumshoe but a concerned husband delve into his wife's secrets, and the story line's twists and turns are wonderfully complex - much more so than the usual light genre read I'm familiar with.

Dave is about to go to the airport to pick up his wife, who has been in Phoenix for a week at a teachers' conference, when he gets the phone call: it's the Las Vegas police - and she's been found dead in a casino hotel room.

Tragedy often comes in 'threes', and thus what follows is a virtual onslaught of deaths and discoveries that rock Dave's world as his wife's death shatters other lives and, like a house of cards, causes more falls in return, from a terrible accident to a best friend's marriage cracked apart by grief.

As Dave comes to find out about his wife's secret life, her passion for an Internet stranger, and the illusions of his own world, he becomes increasingly involved in a hunt that comes full-circle to probe his family, friendships and psyche.

Now, if you're expecting a light 'whodunnit' type of mystery filled with entertaining twists, then A Dead End in Vegas might not be your cup of tea. Its intent is to wind emotional impact and high drama into its saga and it packs this into chapters steeped in tones of inevitability and despair as readers learn just how deeply poor decisions affect every life involved.

As seems inevitable with all good reads, the ending arrives all too soon. It feels abrupt: like the reader's been led down a garden path of complexity only to have everything snap to logical attention within a few short chapters. But that can be said of many a good book where readers might wish for as long and drawn-out an ending as in the rest of the book. Sometimes it's just hard to say 'goodbye'.

I just signed up with Simon and Shuster and got a free EBook called "Siege" by Simon Kernick. I haven't gotten very far, but it's starts off like dynamite and draws you right in. The official short synopsis is, " London is under attack. People are dead. Many more lives hang in the balance as a group of highly trained gunmen storm the historic Stanhope Hotel on Park Lane. The gunmen have given the government just five hours to meet their demands before they blow up the building. Shots ring out. Some guests panic. Others text their loved ones. Still more try to escape..." He's a new author to me but apparently he's writes some really popular books in this genre.

Robin Cook, "Abduction" is a book I picked up recently in a yard sale. The author pulls you in in the first chapter and you don't want to put it down until you've finished. With the clarity of the details you form the clearest of pictures in your mind of precisely how everything would be. Best book I have ever read by Robin Cook.
