First of all, awesome review! I love a book that pulls you in so thoroughly that you feel an emotional connection to the characters. This sounds like one that I will really enjoy.

I agree with you that this book is a real page turner - and also that it is not so much about suspense but about watching how the characters respond to developments. I also found the insight into the world of science and academia really interesting.

The Prize. Well done! You have done a brilliant job. In life, there are people genuinely interested in moving humanity forward, like Pamela Weller, and these are the people endowed with compassion. Not those that seek self gratification.

The book is definitely on the top of my to-read books. I just finished sampling, and I must admit, I got sold to it. I cannot wait to see who eventually wins and how they do it. Packed with suspense, the book is an interesting drama. Thanks for the review.

A medical thriller with such great characters definitely desrves a spot in my bookshelves! The review was glowing, so I'm giving this one a try.

The Prize By Goeffrey Cooper

This book just beats them all. I love the concept and the way it leaves one with suspense just makes me want more. It's thrilling and every one should get to read this book if they haven't because they don't know what they are missing.

This review is a passionate one. It makes me want to be part of everything about the book. I am in for real. I guess balance is everything: survival and passion, competition and being relevant etc. balance is everything.

After Reding the review I am now certainly interested in the book The Prize, by Geoffrey M Cooper. It causes me to wonder who will find the cure? Will the one searching for fame and fortune discover it, or will the one who is simply only looking for the cure discover it? Which one is more determined? This passionate and well written review certainly makes all want to read its book.

The Prize seems like an absolute page turner as it approaches the dichotomy of fame and fortune versus the bettering of humanity. There is a sense of intrigue between the two characters for the common interest of Alzheimer’s. I look forward to reading where and how Geoffrey M Cooper takes this story and where the adventures will lead the characters in the search of Alzheimer’s, the Nobel prize, and whatever else lies ahead.

I read a sample of this book. By the end of it I couldn't help wondering how the story was going to unfold. I guess I shall have to buy the book!!
I like the woman researcher, Pam Weller. "She’d gone into research to make a difference, not to follow the crowd" pretty much describes her character. It is sad, but also true, that prestige and the prize often become driving forces in research when it should be about finding that elusive cure.
Thank you for the review.

Thank you for the review. As I was reading it, I kept wondering if this book was something that I would like to check out, and the more I read your review, the more I realized that this may be the type of book that I am looking for to broaden my range. I usually love a good mystery novel and psychological thrillers, but this book seems to entail more than those elements. Thank you again for your insight.

The little snippet that I read of Geoffrey M. Cooper's "The Prize", definitely left me wanting to read more. I got the impression that the three main characters introduced at the beginning of the book,Prescott, Moore, and Bergner, are more concerned with being seen and part of an elite social club, more than any good their research may do for others. With regard to Prescott, I get the impression that he is more concerned with how quickly his research efforts will propel him up the ladder of success. I would have appreciated an introduction to the other main character, whose goal is to use her research efforts to discover a cure for Alzheimer's for the positive impact it will have on others, and not her own personal gain. Also, from the little bit I read, I got the impression that there will be a serious conflict between Prescott and the other main character, to the point where his ambition may drive him to do her physical harm.
