This book sounds great. I’m really curious to see which of the scientist comes out on top, if at all. As a woman in a highly male dominated science field, I can certainly appreciate the subject matter at hand.

A genuinely interesting novel that had the reviewer angry and raising fists at the characters. I like a good an absorbing novel and this looks like it.

Thanks for the review! Thrillers are my favorite genre so I am excited about this book. I haven't read many thrillers about medical science so that will be interesting.

My favorite genre is without a doubt the across the thriller/ psychological suspense spectrum. The sample of The Prize held my attention righ5 to the BUY button. The main reason I am such a fan of the thriller type genre is because the range of subjects is so broad -crime, legal-domestic noir and medical.
After just the sample my mind is spinning - 2 Dr’s racing to the finish line, or does I jus5 appea4 that way. Both have millions of dollars at stake in research funding, professional reputations and the reward if they break the code first. What is truly scary is the very real lack of oversight in many research studies and trials, which Dic will cut corners and how many will be affected by it.
Will update once finished.

I think that it’s great that this book truly analyzes human nature and how the quest for power and fame can turn us into very gnarly and nasty people. Realistic characters that don’t seem at all fictional absolutely sell the book for me, as believable circumstances and characters hook me even more into the novel, so I’m glad that this book did just that! I’m definitely interested in reading this novel, I’m glad you liked it and great review!

It is the bit difficult to see where this book is going from the sample. However, from your review, I am curious to see how the author delves into the psychological aspects of the characters. It is a good sign when you are invested enough in the characters to get angry at what happens. Thanks for a great review.

Characters can always make or break a book and I'm glad that you found the characters in this novel to be worth reading about. I am not usually a crime thriller type but if the characters are good enough then I may consider it. Great review! :D

I like the way the combination of mystery and medical philosophy are put together in a book that is also meant to be a crime thriller, this is a must read for me, it has good life lessons, thanks for the review

This book certainly has a very interesting concept. I merely sampled the first few pages, and while I wasn't initially interested in finishing this book, your review certainly makes me reconsider. I like the notion of there being two opposing characters who are trying to find the same cure, but for very different reasons. I also like knowing that the characters become infuriating at times. That, to me, is the true mark of a talented author.
