By the layout of the content in which the characters fully express the idea of winnning a prize
Eric portrays resilience and hardwork
Peller portrays the determination in achieving success
The author achieves the intent through the persuasive use of the back and forth switch style of writing

The first few chapters open the door to the lives of brilliant medical scientists who think of their career success, their shot at fame and fortune, as much as they think of helping millions with the discovery of a cure for Alzheimer's, and even more so. They're not bad people but they know that their intelligence, competence and hard work can help save millions of lives as much as these can help theirs. Readers must understand how tough and challenging the lives of scientists are. They search for knowledge for years, trying to create solutions for mankind's problems. But they may just reach a dead end, invalidating a whole career's work. Brilliant people like Pamela Weller who work hard want acknowledgement for what they do and they seek stability and security in an institution that would enable them to further find more effective cures for debilitating diseases. But there are also alpha personalities like Eric Prescott who want to find the cure and yes the glory, power and wealth that come with that.
The race for the cure opens the way for a clash of hard-charging personalities like Weller and Prescott as well as supporting characters with their own motivations. This makes for gripping fiction.

in this review,i noted two characters; Eric Prescott and Pamela Weller both researching on the cure of Alzheimer and each has developed ways/methods of testing chemical compounds with the aim of finding its cure. They both look forward into achieving things, that is winning a Nobel prize and achieving Tenure at Langmere respectively. the book is rated 4 star and encourages other readers to take a step and read the book.

everyone has it own passion in as a result of what motivate us in toward doing things, pamela has understanding about the cure because it what interest her the most.why eric was failing because that was not his purpose.Libs_Books wrote: ↑02 Mar 2018, 09:15 This sounds really great and distinctively different from run-of-the-mill thriller stuff with a really strong moral dimension. Thinking of adding this to my 'want to read' pile.

I tend to edge slowly away from the genre, myself, when I encounter an author on the subject. At it's worst, they can be unbearably repetitive or mind numbingly vapid. As @Libs_Books already said, the hint of a moral tone is refreshing.
I would like to say that I'm putting this on my 'to-read' list, but I have so many on my list already.
I chuckled at the part of your write-up that talked about you wanting to shake your fist in indignation, and even dropping the book entirely out of frustration.

That's a sign of a good book if there's any. The best times for me are when I burst out in laughter at a line or a paragraph (sometimes I'll even go back and read it again), but I suppose that wouldn't happen often in a psychological thriller as you've described.
It's not entirely clear though, whether this is Crime, Mystery, or Thriller. You did mention that it was more of a 'progressive' plot than a 'who-dun-it'. I suppose that subtly chalks it up to suspense.
In any case, your review reads almost like a novel itself, it definitely gives a reader more than enough provocation to go read the book for themselves.
Thank you!
