This book has a great storyline, with well rounded characters and a good story flow. It's admirable the way the author portrays the seven-year-old Claire as she was very realistic and easy to imagine. Congrats on the BOTD!

Sounds like an interesting read. Especially the part with her husband Ed being loving towards her. I love a good romance novel. Thanks for your review.

It sounds like the author has paid close attention to the details that most would miss (such as the accurate behavior and struggles of a child, or the details involved in balancing work and pleasure.) I appreciate that the author took the time to focus on these kinds of things that make the story more grounded in reality.

In the book "House of Eire" by June Gillam, dark family secrets threaten a peaceful family vacation. Although it is the third book in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone book without any problems. The book is professionally edited.

I have read the whole book and I loved it. I fully agree with the review and with the rating - the book is brilliantly written and immaculately edited. I too liked Claire and her parents and gran, and I was gripped by the suspense and by the wider and deeper issues that unravelled as the family's skeletons start emerging from the closet. A WOW book all in all. :)

I like children as characters, also. They seem to be sensitive to things adults would dismiss.

It takes one that truely cares to take family and friends matters deeply to heart and find solutions to problems holding them down and l am sure Hilary will succeed in that. Great review.

Great review! I would really like to read this book since it has a lot to offer: well-drawn characters, beautiful descriptions of places I am keen on visiting, some mystery and the idea of roots, of things being transmitted from generation to generation.

The secrets that are uncovered during Hilary's vacation seem like they have the potential to put a lot of people in danger. I wonder how she will navigate this situation and look forward to reading the book.

In a way, the actions of our friends affect the kind of reality that we see and perceive. I appreciate the author's dexterity, and I love the writing style. The author did a good job with the characterization of this book. Thank you for your honest review.

The author skillfully propels the plot through a cast of well-developed characters. Hillary is a successful ghostwriter who is fiercely devoted to her family and friends. Unresolved issues from her upbringing often haunt her dreams, but despite being plagued by self-doubt, she is determined to be present for her daughter, Claire. Readers will relate to Hillary's tendency to second guess herself. Ed, who affectionately refers to his wife as "Chickadee," is loving, protective, and likable. Sarah fulfills a maternal relationship for Hillary and is also a doting surrogate grandmother to Claire.
- Not your average family but a typical non-related family, who connect, better. Wonderful review. Keep it up.
