Have you ever heard the phrase "in a quiet pool the devils are found"? I believe it describes the storyline of this book precisely and underneath the facade of decency are hidden past secrets and mysteries that always come to bite unexpectedly. Interesting and quite appealing, so congratulations on BOTD!

I love the tone of the few pages I sampled. From the review, I can also guess that the book features some mysteries and suspense. I can give it a try and learn more about Arnold and Tamara. Nice review.

What could be happening behind the closed doors? What could Tammy be hiding? Would Arnie eventually find his wife? Well, I guess I would have to read to find out.
Congrats on the BOTD.

Thank you for your very detailed analysis of this book. Despite of the book’s many good features, It sounds like it would still need some work to become perfect. The storyline sounds really promising and I am curious to find out what happens to Tammy.

This book is building up to a dark inevitable end. Arnie is not a bad person, but he will definitely kill his wife. Tammy too if she knew what was coming would rethink some of her actions, and WORDS! Nobody deserves death, but who knows what goes on in a couple's mind? This book may give you some insight. Definitely recommend if you are a fan of tragic thrillers. You will enjoy all the way to the end.

I liked the book's potential for a cool movie adaptation. Overall, a solid story with its ups and downs, just like any good thriller. Thanks for your review.

Your review does indeed expose a British flavour to this book; I've always loves the way they deliver their whodunnits. On the downside, I also get irritated by stories that are bogged down by mundane details.

The investigative side is what makes the book interesting, but the behind closed doors issue is really wanting,'skeletons in a closet indeed'.

The book's concept—revealing the hidden realities concealed behind closed doors—captivates me. Pascoe crafts an engaging narrative that could undoubtedly translate well onto the silver screen. The story leans more towards an exploration of "can they pull it off" than a traditional whodunit, and Pascoe adeptly ratchets up the tension towards the climax.
