At the outset, this book seems engrossing, especially with the twist of art, always a refreshing subject. As a thriller this one is cleverly using art as its central point. The prose is very readable with a nice personable tone.

The prose is exquisite as she moves from modeling to painting, progressively entering "painting mode," and finally considering the thought of enshrining her mother's ashes in a painting with memories of her as a little child. I appreciated the chilling atmosphere created by the writing and the premise. I have added it to my TBR.

The book portrays a rather unusual approach to commemorating deceased loved ones. It is ideal for aficionados of horror and thrillers.

I am not sure I would want a painting made with cremation ashes, but this plot sounds intriguing. Thank you for your review.

I completely agree with your review of this book. The unique plot and vivid, cinematic writing style kept me hooked. Kira's journey and the horror elements were truly captivating. However, the rushed relationship between Kira and Sean felt a bit off. Despite minor punctuation errors, the book was an engrossing read, perfect for fans of horror and mystery.

Though I have fears for horror books. But I still like the cinematic experience and the suspense it may come with and thank for the review.

What a unique storyline! Spirits have ways of communicating with us from the other side. Just be sure you are open to hearing what they have to say. Not all messages are going to be good. Kira discovers there are many terrible things to be learnt from the dead.

Thank you for your informative review!

It seems that "A Brush with Death" by Jody Summers is an intriguing thriller. The fact that Kira, a painter, uses her mother's ashes in her art and leading to a successful but eerie business caught my attention. Despite it seemingly feeling rushed at times, it sounds like a worthwhile read.

I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to horror, but this premise is so intriguing. Painter decides to honor the deceased by making paintings for their families with their ashes mixed into the paint, but then they start reliving the dead people's memories. Adding this to my TBR.
