I didn't understand why Gilly had to take a dead baby in the wood to bury in her home. I think I need to read this novel to fully understand why the narrator regretted her past too. Congrats on BOTD!

Today's book is a crime novel that appears to look into the secrets of a small community as well as a woman's coming to terms with her past and present. Congratulations on being chosen as Book of the Day!

This sounds like a scary thriller! Dead babies, mysterious characters, flowers on strollers, two girls who make a strange decision - aieeee! Congrats to the author on BOTD.

I’m not sure if I can stomach the topic of dead babies/children, but I do love crime/mystery thrillers. Thanks for your detailed and insightful review!

This thriller seems to be shocking and a bit disturbing, even though Gilly appears to lead a normal life. It's definitely intriguing to read. Congrats on BOTD!

"Dead Reckoning" by Lea O'Harra is a horror thriller starring Gilly. Gilly is also the narrator of the whole story in which hate and crime are the main themes. I like that all the characters are well developed regardless of their importance to the plot.

I enjoy thrillers but I'm not sure this one would interest me. Gilly and Sally keeping the dead baby seems too gross. What did they do with it?

I usually like murder mysteries, but I don’t think I’ll be able to read a book if the plot includes dead babies. Even more so if children discover a dead baby and keep the body. I am curious about what the story is behind this scene, though, and how it’s connected to the other murders. Thank you for the intriguing review!

Thank you for your review. The plot sounds really interesting. One wonders what the mystery was all these years and why it wouldn't go away. From the sample, the author has the ability for intrigue and suspense. Well done!

I would not enjoy reading a book full of crimes and hate. But I found your mentioning interesting: hate does not go away with time. It's mostly a matter of being willing to forget & forgive. If there is no will, the hate will stay.

This review demonstrated the positive and negative aspects of this book very clerly. The summary caught my undevoted attention. It is very intriguing and leading for you to pick the book up and unreveal all the amazing details of it. The murder, the backstory, what did the two women do? What will happen next. It definitely seems like a very tense read.

It seems like too dark book for me. I don't usually read all that many horrors books. Thank you for informative review.

Gilly's diary sounds like a good mechanism to help tell this sordid tale. I question whether a twelve-year-old would do such a thing and never tell anyone, though.
