Congrats on BOTD!
Thyme Lewis' mystery book A Week's Worth features Mac, a FEMA employee. Mac travels home to California to spend a week with his mother after receiving distressing news regarding his mother's health while he was at work. Will Mac be able to get in touch with his mother, and why are people dying around them? It has the makings of an exciting book.

I really enjoyed the way this author manages to give character history in dialogue and thoughts without doing a "data dump". It makes for a very engaging read, as you have to pay attention to the little hints and such to figure out what exactly is going on. Im very intrigued!

I wholeheartedly agree with the review of "A Week's Worth" by Thyme Lewis. This mystery novel offers a compelling story centered around Mac, a former Navy officer turned FEMA worker, and his attempt to rebuild his relationship with his mother amidst a series of challenging circumstances. The simplicity of the language in the book makes it incredibly accessible and easy to follow. The narrator's soothing voice and subtle accents add to the overall enjoyment of the audiobook. The core of the story revolves around the evolving relationship between Mac and Sadie, which is beautifully portrayed, showcasing their growth as characters.
Sincerely,
Sondang :tiphat:

The first few chapters of A Week's Worth by Thyme Lewis is about a man who takes time from his job of natural disaster support to travel with his estranged Mother in the wake of her recent heart attack. As they drive to LA they reconnect talking about their past… but something is off about his brother Tristan and they aim to discover the truth. They end the sample with a cliffhanger the leaves the reader wanting more.

This is a book to be added to the “to read” list for sure.

The book is very nicely written, and any novel that addresses the issues of homelessness is important, particularly right now. The author has a fine writing style and the first chapters unfold rather nicely, establishing some memorable characters. Congrats to Mr. Lewis on his achievement.

I didn't like the fact that McKenzie had to delay to show Mac the message. Seems odd to me and the love Mac had for family is evident. Can't wait to have a complete read for this book.

A fictional mystery—sounds interesting. I would surely like to read the book. Oh wait—it's an audiobook. I like to read books, not listen to them, so—out of want to read list!! :(

I earnestly suggest "A Week's Worth" to aficionados of secret and tension books. Besides, as a book recording, it takes care of book recording fans, making it a flexible decision for a large number of perusers. This novel is a magnificent mix of secret, profound profundity, and social critique, making it a must-peruse for anybody looking for a connecting and provocative scholarly experience.

This is my first review at the online book club, so I'm new, and I'll give it my best shot. The book is about a man named Mac. Mac is in his 40s and gets notification that his mother has just had a heart attack, and is cleared for leave for seven days from his position in the Navy. Mac does not read/see that message until the 7 days has passed. Going back to his childhood home, it is quickly realized that he hasn't been home in twenty years. Mac's mother survives the heart attack, yet the character (and reader) wonders what if she had not? The book is based on how the future always follows past, and regardless of the space between now and then, the past must always be dealt with. Includes a large amount of past crime that Mac must face now that he is home. Heartfelt book. Would recommend.
