Thanks for your honest review. I was a bit disappointed when you said that there really wasn't much crime thriller to this book and that even though it's based on actual events it's more contemporary fiction. Goodness knows I love a good crime drama with some mystery played up to keep me engaged but I really did enjoy reading your review. Good job writing it up.

Slow build is exactly what suspense is all about, the viewer/ reader knowing what is coming before the character/s. A thriller is typically fast paced and action filled. Alfred Hitchcock took great pleasure in clueing the viewer in before his character/s, it made for great suspense as viewers wondered when the character/s would finally discover what they(the audience) already knew and more often than not would hope for a speedier discovery than what was unfolding on the screen.

Peter Alper, I have not read your book, therefore cannot weigh in on the point, but it does seem that the reviewer has given a considered review. Having an insight into the legal world no doubt strengthens the story and your Amazon reviewers seem very delighted at the release of your second title. Good luck with your book sales.

It sounds like a pretty good story. I have heard of people stopping in the middle of a book just because it starts off slow but what I have realized is even if it does start off slow if you can make it through sometimes it is worth it in the end. Glad you kept up with it. Also I have learned that if you have already read through most of it and it's still slow you took all the time to read that much in the first place you might as well finish it. So i'm glad you did it sounds like an interesting book.
