Thanks for the review! After reading the excerpt, I definitely want to read more. The prologue definitely got my attention, and would like to more about The Reverend. Not sure I'll enjoy Haatim's naivete, though. We'll see.

It's too bad about the editing errors but this looks like a good read.

Thanks for the heads up about the gory scenes. Horror is not my genre so I appreciate your comment on it.

An interesting sounding book that has a unique cast!. Not typically my kind of book to read but this one does sound good! Nice review.

Thank you very much for your review, I read the first part and it was too much for me, as you say in your review, the prologue was very good and I could also feel the pain and the agony of the Reverent. Not my cup of te in this moment.

Thanks for the review. I am glad that you included the fact that there were some gory scenes, but not too much of a horror. I don't mind those kinds of scenes, but I know some people do enjoy horror without gore.

This sounds like an intense horror suspense that I can definitely dive into, and part of a series? Count me in!

hsimone wrote:Great review! You had me at supernatural entities! This definitely sounds like a read that you can get right into. I like how the two main characters' relationship stays platonic because, like you said, it's almost something you would expect from most novels.

Exactly what I was going to say.

I've been interested in this one for awhile. Not sure I'll be as interested after the sample (fingers crossed!), or that I'd get to it for next month, but it's definitely caught my eye!

I read the prologue of the book as well, and from there, I have to say it piqued my interest. It's nice to read that you felt the same way and that it held your interest in its entirety, not losing momentum. From my experience, there have been some books that start off well but by the time it reaches the end, it's just not as good as the beginning.

Something that put me off from the book, though, is Reverend. I've never been that much of a religious person, and I was wondering how much the religious element would play here, if at all. Another thing that puts me off from the book, which is what I encountered from reading your review is: Haatim. If he's a prominent character, yet his naivete gets questioned quite a lot, I would find myself struggling through the book.

Overall, I would say that your review makes me want to try reading the book some day. I'm glad that there's no forced romance and plenty of action. Thanks for taking the time to review this!

This book looks like interesting. The reviewer point outs the interesting event in the story which can attract the readers. The review is great.

Wonderful review! It sounds like it's a well written book. I'm Not usually a horror fan, especially if it's gory. But it does sound interesting.

Great review. This definitely sounds like a book that I will enjoy, though it is a bummer about the editing. Bad editing can really take a great story and make if only good, or worse, but this time I'm willing to chance it. Thanks so much for sharing.

Ashley_Claires's comment on the absence of a forced romantic relationship was a selling point that decided me to download the book for further reading. A romantic relationship was not explored in the free sample so this well done review encouraged my further reading.
