I have read other reviews for the author's work and they clearly praise him for his humor. After reading this review I am definitely going to get this book to read although YA fantasy is a genre I rarely read.

The author strikes just the right note between action and humor so as to make this book a truly unique, fun, and exciting read...The author has prepared for this novel well, and it comes through in the writing. Mr. Hardison conveys to us how demons are expected to act in this story, and he stays consistent with this throughout the plot. Many times with novels that are part comedy, the author doesn't take the time to prepare. This leads to a very shallow and unrealistic story. That, however, was not the case here.

Based on the sample chapter, I'd say that this was the great strength of the book - although the author's name might suggest a skit on the great Tolkien, this is a novel that stands on its own two feet, and doesn't sacrifice its integrity for the sake of one or two easy laughs.

Thanks for this review. I was not going to read it based on the cover and the content I thought it would be dark, but after reading the review I think I will. It seems to be a fun humorous take on demon crushing that is filled with teen angst. I appreciate the review as it definitely changed my mind about this book.

To elaborate on my first comments, I really do like the sounds of the supernatural aspect, though I'm not so sure of the inclusion of the Golfer's Association. However, I'm willing to overlook the latter for a funny tale about demon possession. And, isn't it always something when you're trying to study (work, in my case)?!

I usually would have written this book off by its title. I am glad that this website has broadened my horizons. The level of humor this book apparently has is really enticing to me. I am excited to add it to my list to read.

Rarely does an funny action thriller book hook you before you've started reading it, but in this special instance, this book falls in that unique category. The amazing onlinebookclub review left me longing to start the book and I rated the book 4 out of 4 stars after reading it.
