The synopsis didn't sound like something overly interesting to me but your review makes me think differently. Winning a techie Nobel is a great honor but it doesn't seem right for that to be your goal. It should be a side effect.

I think that the whodunit kind of mystery stories are quite overdone, but this book seems like a good one. Different. Sad that it isn't action-packed, but not all have to be that way. Great review!

That’s really interesting. You wouldn’t really expect Alzheimer’s researchers to be involved in crime, or would you? Curious if pharmaceutical companies or reps play some kind of role in this book as well. I’m pretty much the same way about this genre so I’m glad you landed a good one.

Your review has already managed to hook me as if it were a mystery (just like The Prize) itself. Cannot imagine how captivating the book must be if the review is this good!

I’m a fan of C/M/T/H, and this definitely doesn’t sound like a cookie cutter plot of that genre. While it sounds interesting, I don’t think this one will be at the top of my to-read list. Great review!

The use of Alzheimer's and medicine as the basis of the whodunit part of the mystery is an interesting twist. Excellent review.

What a creative plot - sounds super interesting and I would love to read. I added this book to my bookshelves. The characters sound very real and makes for a story that I won't want to stop reading.

Thanks for the review! For me, this book deserves something more than a 'to read' list, it should be in a 'must read' list. That is probably because I am familiar with the settings described in the book and reading the sample made me feel like I was on my homeground. I can relate with almost everything described so far-be it the overambitiousness of certain scientists who value fame more than any real change, or insecurity of a graduate student on getting (or not getting) first authorship in publications or politics surrounding the scientific field in general. This will be a very interesting (and probably illuminating) read for me. Even without reading the entire book, I suppose I can safely comment that the injustice and unfairness which made you want to scream are something we face everyday, and probably that is why I am more anxious too see Pamela succeed in spite of every obstacle thrown in her way!
