The plot sounds really intense! I’m intrigued by how Sergeant Porter digs into a case that seems to go much deeper than expected. It’s good to hear the author balances a tough topic without getting too graphic, which could have easily ruined the story. The book seems to do well with building suspense, though I agree that some side plots could have been tighter.

Your review provides a clear and insightful breakdown of the book's strengths and weaknesses. I appreciate how you highlighted Sergeant Porter’s dedication to justice and how the author balanced the heavy subject matter without making it overly graphic. The mention of unnecessary filler and undeveloped side plots is helpful for setting expectations. It’s good to know that while the book is engaging, it may have moments that stray from the main plot. Your detailed assessment makes me more interested in reading this, especially for the suspenseful elements. Thanks for sharing!

This book speaks volume of what a society can turn into where there's no justice for the vulnerable, I hope Jeremy Porter gets justice for the abused child.

I like your balanced perspective! It’s helpful to hear that the book has a strong main plot and well-developed characters but also some unnecessary filler. I often struggle with books that introduce side plots but don’t fully develop them, so I’m glad you pointed that out.

What could have happened to a child at an overnight camp that caused nightmares? What happened to Julio at the retreat that he could no longer recall? Did Sergeant Porter finally solve the mystery?
Let's find out in "NIGHTMARE BEFORE MARDI GRAS" by Robert Sterling Hecker; a thriller that highlights child abuse, trauma, blackmail, and justice.

In my opinion, it is a very admirable task "to hunt down child abusers and bring them to justice". No matter where and how, by sitting at the monitor to fish out perverts or conducting an investigation like the hero of this book, because the safety of kids prevails above everything else!

Excellent review..thank you!

Set during Mardi Gras, today's BOTD is a suspenseful crime thriller that follows Sgt. Porter as he works to track down child abusers. Readers are sure to be pulled in right from the start and stay guessing through to the end. This sounds like one that will have you on the edge of your seat! Thanks again for the helpful review! :-)

Sounds like a very interesting plot. I hope Porter saves his job and loves this case. I wish there were more systems to protect the kids, though. Congratulations on the book of the day.

'Official Review: Nightmare Before Mardi Gras' by Robert Sterling Hecker describes the main points of the action thriller. It examines the contents of the story. A young boy named Julio goes to a retreat and has nightmares, but he can't remember what happened to him. Readers will learn about Porter's work and determination to help the little boy. The suspenseful thriller follows Sergeant Jeremy Porter as he works to hunt down child abusers and bring them to justice. His work also affected his personal life and the sacrifices he had to make. Learning that the story is engaging and interesting was great!

Great review! I occasionally read crime thrillers, and this one sounds interesting. A lot of the time when children have nightmares, it is caused by some sort of trauma.
