After reading your review, I think this is a book that I would like to try! You are right that, based on the title, it is not one that would have grabbed my interest or a book I thought would be up my alley. I'm glad that I read the sample pages and your review; otherwise, I would have missed out on what seems like a really enjoyable cozy mystery!

Great review. I like that it’s a mystery but also full of humor. I am interested to read about these characters. This seems like a great book I will definitely be reading it.

Right away I like Harley as a character. She prioritized her family over her education. Such a smart and interesting character to watch solving mysteries.

I was immediately attracted to this book by the cover and the title. The imagery from the cover really struck me but I would never have believed this this be a mystery. I was expecting a nice small town girl novel, which this seems to be with the added intrigue of a mystery. The first few pages had me hooked, then I met Harley and that clenched it for me. I have already had so many emotions while reading the sample that this will immediately go to my must read pile. Thank you for the wonderful review.

Although the title and cover aren't so captivating for me, I always appreciate a story that catches your attention in the beginning and leaves you asking questions. With the character experiencing complexities such as these, it leaves me with a lot to sympathize with. After all, a great story plays with your heart. Great review!

Interesting storyline, sophisyicated characters and good sense of humor - three points which makes this book definitely worth reading. Sample is simply not enough, so good thing I am on vacation and have free time))

I don't really fancy mystery books but The Mist Rises Over Notchey Creek by Liz Andrews sounds like a great book and I can not overlook it. I will try it out. Great review!

Not my thing really, far too much description for my taste and nothing much happened in the page I read.

Erika Thomas wrote: 13 Dec 2018, 21:23 This sounds like a fabulous read. It is certainly going on my TBR! Your description of Harley, her adventures, the mystery, and her various shenanigans makes it sound like a must read! It is very difficult to write a humorous suspense novel and I am intrigued and elated to read it. Thanks for taking the time to read and review!
Thank you, Erika.

gali wrote: 17 Mar 2019, 08:31 A mystery revolving around a murder in a small Southern town with a book-loving whiskey distiller as a detective sounds intriguing. A complex heroine, good imagery, and humor make it a good read for fans of the genre. That it was well edited is another plus. Thank you and good luck!
