found the plot of Final Notice by Van Fleisher extremely interesting and well executed. ... I enjoyed the book because there wasn't a judgmental tone to it. Some sensitive topics like suicide, racism, and how the elderly are treated are talked about in a very appropriate manner, and you get insights into different layers of society. If you like thought provoking, exciting and well-written novels, then give this one a go! Reviewed by Gift Ayeni

This sounds like a very interesting book and I am keen to read speculative fiction and science fiction. I don't think I'd want that watch, regardless of how useful it might be on a pragmatic level. Thank you for the insightful review.

I'm intrigued. As with any scientific invention, this invention is not immune from abuse. The problem is human nature, I wonder what the author thinks.

The best thing about this novel is that it leaves you with a lot to think about. I think it is a story that will stay with readers. The debate about gun ownership is ongoing, and this book asks a lot of important questions that we should all be thinking about in our daily lives. Personally, I kept on going back and forth when it came to who should be blamed for the violent reactions of some of the people who receive the final notices. Is it the doctors’ fault for giving the person a reason to harm others? Is it the person’s own responsibility for what they do when they know they are about to die? Or is it the government's fault for making it easier for the average citizen to weaponize themselves? There are many answers to that question, but you have to read the book to see what the author thinks
.

I always find it commendable when an author manages to keep a novel both engaging and thought-provoking. And you made an excellent point: at the core of the gun ownership issue is the question of responsibility. What great insight! Thanks!

This seems a pretty interesting book on what it might mean to know when your time is going to be up, and whether it would be a good idea to know when that's going to happen.

Thank you for the review!

Gun ownership was legalised in many countries. However there is illicit gun trafficking going on secretly among top government officials. Gun trafficking remains one of the leading threats of the 21st century. Terrorists take advantage of this. Thanks.

What a great premise. As I own a Fitbit now, this doesn't seem so far-fetched. I will have to add it to my reading list. I just hope the politics aren't too heavy-handed.

To have a device that could tell you when you would die sounds incredible scientific wise, but when you really think about it, how much do you really want to know this information. This book honestly sounds amazing and thrilling. A definite read for me.

What if you knew the exact day of your death? What will you do differently? .In "Final Notice" a group of doctors discover how to fulfill this. It's strange that instead of making amends and spending time with loved ones as most expect. Some go for revenge, others result to violence by use of a gun. As much as it is a fiction novel it leaves the reader with a bitter taste of how the events are very similar to reality. Thanks for the detailed review.

Even though I don't fancy guns, this novel seems to be packed with things I like - a bit of unusual futuristic thoughts, sci-fi, what ifs... I'd enjoy reading it.

I read this book earlier and found it to be very intriguing and thought-provoking as well. I think most people would enjoy it; however, I agree that readers who own guns might not enjoy it as much. Thanks for your wonderful review!

This is an interesting premise for a book. I liked that the author chose an elderly couple to debate the purchase of a weapon. The surprises that are thrown in keep the reader engaged. Great review!
