Great review! Although basketball really isn't one of my favorite sports, the book seems like a nice read, you really highlighted the important aspects of the topic. I will definitely check it out!

I'm touched with the author's dedication of the book to the late Gianna Bryant, but I'm not sure if I would reading a book about basketball. Nonetheless, thank you for the great review.

I'm not really a fan of basketball, but this sounds like a book that can be enjoyed by readers of all backgrounds and ages. It's nice to hear that it can be read as a standalone. Thanks for the great review!

I'm fascinated by Charlie. Although I already have an idea how he would balance his illness with his aversion to the gentrification of his neighborhood, I'm curious how would he deal with it and how would the story go. I also appreciate the reference to political topics, because I think novelists should write about them too for they happen, and it's good to read a novel which is a reflection of reality.

This sounds like an interesting book. I don't care for basketball so I don't know how much the book focuses on it. However, the stories of the two protagonist sounds intriguing. Thanks for the excellent review!

I have read books in this series before and I'm interested in continuing with the series. Glad that the author included current social events as well as basketball legend Bryant. Great job with the review.

What I liked about this review is the depth of discussion regarding the quotes. Hats off to the author if there’s an added bonus to the reader. Sounds like the quotes were very intriguing to you.

This sounds like an interesting book about basketball and young girls. I don’t know if I would like the plot because it is about buildings being constructed and I’m not really interested in that.

This review is insightful. The fact that the book tackles things like mass shooting , protests and black lives matter makes me want to read it and get the opinion of the author. Also, another capturing story is about Kobe Bryant and his daughter. I would really love to read about their lives before the accident. Great review!

"House of Hoops" by June Gillam - June Gillam produces novels with rivetingly interesting subjects, backed by excellent research to connect her story to real events or current social issues. House of Hoops shines the spotlight on expensive development which benefits the developer and political figures but not citizens. Great characterization and plot. Thanks for the review, very explicit.

The fourth book in the Hillary Broome series. It is a fictional novel that captures my attention due to its issues related to basketball. It seems to present themes related to neighborhood social conflicts and the complicated evolution of girls from adolescence to adulthood.
