The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. While the book is a work of fiction, Dan
Brown has done an exhaustive amount of
research to ensure that his explanations
and depictions of history and the ancient
societies that are featured in the book are
as accurate as possible.

Hello,
My favorite book is pretty girl 13. It’s about a girl who disappears for 5 years but she thought she did for 3 days for camp. She came
Back and her parents were shocked because they thought she was dead. Along the way of the book turns out she has 7 different personalities

I grew up on Sherlock Holmes and still like the short story format. Collections are my favorite; Agatha Christie has several compilations out there to begin with. Also, "The Complete Lord Peter Whimsey" by Dorothy Sayers is a favorite, as is "The Complete Father Brown" by G. K. Chesterton.

There's a famous writer James Patterson, his private series is the best and also a book named Guilt of innocence.

I also like F. Paul Wilson books. Not everybodies cup of tea about a "mechanic"..A for hire type of mercenary who has no life of his own. Very interesting books.

If you are looking for thrillers, I recommend books by Agatha Christie and Dan Brown. Agatha Christie has her immortal 'Hercule Poirot Series' of which I have read Murder on the Orient Express. It is a grasping story in which the reader is made to incriminate unlikely suspects. Dan Brown has the famous 'Robert Langdon Series'. I have read all his works. His books always have a time constraint and a very unlikely villain. Generally, whenever I start reading his book, after a few chapters, I try to make out the antagonist. Its a fun experiment to do.

Has anyone read the book 'A Very Pukka Murder' by Arjun Raj Gaind? Beautiful book with a unique style of presentation one of my favourites other than the Dan Brown books.

mahima wrote: 24 Feb 2014, 12:29 Hi,

I just love this on-going series by Nora Roberts under the pseudonym of J.D. Robb , these futuristic series are called "In death" series and revolve around a homicide investigator called Eve Dallas and in the first book "Naked in death" Eve meets her future husband Roarke, who is a murder suspect but is soon absolved of the same, so far there are 38 books published in these series and almost all of them are page turners.
Hello,

I love the Eve Dallas series too. The first time I read a book (I can't remember the title) I was in high school. The school library had 5 random copies from the series. I remember making a commitment to find and read them all. A decade later I kept that commitment! :D I have read 54 out of the 56 novels. Books 55 and 56 are set to be published in Sep-2022 and Feb-2023 respectfully. I am keeping my eye on the calendar. :D

I love South of Hell by P.J. Parrish. It is the story of a young girl who returns to the house she was taken from and put into thy system the night her mother was supposedly murdered by her father. To this day her mother's body has still not been found. She returns in an attempt to see if her mother escaped or if she is really dead, and if she is where is her body?

My go-to author for mystery is always Agatha Christie. I've read almost all her Hercule Poirot books and all the Ms Marple's. There's always an extremely unexpected twist at the end and with each re-read, I find so many subtle clues that point to the murderer or criminal. Now that I think about it, I enjoy Dan Brown's books as well, because the ending is so unexpected. That's one of the key elements of any mystery book: the unexpected, and these two authors capture that perfectly, really leaving you hooked until the last page. If I had to pick a favourite from both, I think my favourite Agatha Christie book would be 'Death on the Nile' and 'Inferno' for Dan Brown.

My favourite type of mystery books are murder mysteries and as someone mentioned earlier, the ones by Michael Connelly are really good, I recommend reading all of them.
