The storyline starts when a police officer, Dave Dorman, is brutally murdered during a demonstration. Ex-navy, Adam Weldon, and BC Davis, who had been close to Dave, realize that someone was indeed behind his death.

I already like the book because of the introduction, which has a list of characters, defined acronyms, and a map. It will be so easy to understand the book. It is also a thriller about crime solving, which I would like to follow.

After reading the sample from Slay the Dragon and the review of Slay the Dragon by Melisa Jane, I can assuredly say this will be my next read. I agree with Melisa in the three items she specifically likes about this book; being a reader who has a hard time with keeping things straight, the index in the beginning is superbly helpful.
I have only read the sample but I did find one grammatical error in the first chapter. Melisa states there were none in the copy she read so I am hoping it was just missed in the excerpt portion and the main publishing will be better edited.
Melisa's review explains enough of the plot to be intriguing without explaining so much as to lessen the thrill of the read. This is a well written review.

I love criminal investigation drama of any type, be it books or movies. l like to follow the process step by step to uncover mysteries and find the truth. An additional bonus, in my opinion, is a provided list of books to learn more about the subjects covered in the novel. Thanks for the recommendation and congrats on BOTD!

Thanks for the review. One remark though - It would have been appropriate to explain who Dongfeng is, before mentioning his name in the review.
I read a sample of the book, and saw the name list. The list includes too many names. Personally, I don't like the idea of too many characters in a novel. It's hard to remember who everyone is, and a list is not, to my opinion, a good solution to the problem.
