Probably the latest review of this splendid novel, as the reviewer relates it to the events unfolding now in the Middle East. This is a unique feature of the book, it is too realistic!

Jack Winnick is good at crafting action-packed thriller novels; just from the few Lara and Uri series I have read, I can tell, including "Devil Among Us". Congratulations to the author!

Winnick tells this tale with detailed history and culture, thorough character development and vivid location descriptions. While there is significant violence, there is little sex or profanity to detract from the story. While this story is told from a specific worldview that not all readers will embrace, it is consistent with the characters presented.

A spy thriller you say? Nice! I just read a terrorism thriller, but I think this one will be more serious and intriguing.

This is a fantastic and highly erudite review, NetMassimo, thank you! I agree with your five-star rating, and with all your other comments, especially where you discuss the European Union's role shown in this book and in the recent events in Israel. I also think that Jack Winnick's spy thrillers are highly topical too.

Thanks for the review. Thanks also for indicating that Jack Winnick is a Middle East scholar, this detail had completely escaped my attention. I now unde stand how the author's knowledge shapes the tapestry of his novels. I initially thought that the Devil Among Us would be a story of wolf in sheep's clothing, but the complexity of the book's plot development marked by the US and Israel enemies indicates more than that. I would assume that this book, given the author's scholarly background, must be rich in its telling.

I like thrillers and this one is fast paced and action packed with bombings, violent fights, missile attacks, terrorist kidnappings enough to hold my attention till the end of the book. I will be glad to read the continuation of Lara and Uri's story. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I love political thrillers as genre, but I especially can't wait to read this one! Expectations are really high because previous book was true hit and reviews for this part promise great show. Hope average rating won't let us down and plot will be unraveled to its best! Congratulations on BOTD!

This book hasn't made it to my list yet, but it sounds like an exciting spy thriller that will give the reader a glimpse into international relationships the author has studied. I enjoyed your thorough and thoughtful review, NetMassimo. Congrats on introducing us to the BOTD!

First, I'd like to say great job on the review of Devil Among Us. From the review, I got a good idea of what the book is all about. It isn't my cup of tea though but I'm sure for readers who love books on terrorism, political conspiracies and such would enjoy it. Like I said earlier, great job on the review!
