I loved that the author summarized the previous book, I hate picking up a book and then find out it's part of a series, but this way, it can also be a stand alone book. The book sounds interesting to me, good review!

No one knows they can actually begin liking characters engaged in crime until you read such books. Frankie Fiore seems to have jumped from one trouble to another. This definitely makes for a good read. Thanks for the review.

Any book that makes you feel like part of the family has done a great job. I've never read a mafia book like this, but I loved the Sopranos. I'll have to give it a shot. Thanks for a great review.

The review sums up nicely the focus of the novel as I took the liberty of reading a sample section from the book. It's not my area of interest, but I'm certain that for those who enjoy a good crime drama from the perspective of a lead character who used to be on the inside of the mob, it will be a satisfying read.

Mafia crime novels usually have a similar trend and can be predictable. What I picked up from the review is that this book is something different. Well done to the author.

I've never read a Mafia novel before, but your review has me thinking I need to remedy that. For a novel like this, I imagine the vulgar language just adds realism to it. It sounds like a story that allows readers to be immersed.

"By Hook or by Crook is a thrilling, action-packed, mafia crime novel" as your introduction to this review has lured my interest in reading this book. I love action-packed novels and I hope this novel will entertain me to the core. Congratulations to the author on BOTD.

The description of the underworld could be often quite fascinating. Since this is book 2 in a series, I'd like to start with the first one if I choose to read it. Frankie Fiore seems like a charismatic character, and I enjoy Italian mafia crime novels. Thanks for a great review!

Thanks for giving a broad picture of the book in the review. I agree with you that if you have a series of novels, at the beginning of each one the author should give a brief summary of the previous one(s). I've had a couple of experiences like this and the summary makes a whole difference.
Congratulations on the great review!
