People seem to have issues with writers using similar names. For example, as you said, it seemed confusing that the current mayor was Harris but the former mayor was Hanks and there was another guy named Harry. Personally, I don't think it should be an issue. Readers are real life people with numerous friends and acquaintances who answer similar names and while these names confuse us in real life, we learn to manage the confusion. On a more general note, I like that you could still make peace with the book though it didn't live up to the hype. It means the book is sufficiently good. It's just unfortunate that the book description/promotion was misleading in such a manner as to be disadvantageous to the book. Very informative review. Thanks for sharing!

I was turned off by the title at first, but your review makes it seem worth reading. At least I'll be going into it knowing that the characters can be a little confusing. Thanks for the great review!

I understand how you felt when you discovered that the book wasn't living up to its promise. I will put it on my TBR list for a time when I don't want so much of a suspenseful read. Thanks for the interesting review.

It seems like a great read. Thanks for the warning, I am usually very squeamish when it comes to violence, sexual abuse. Glad to read that it's not such big deal in this book.

So honest. I like when you mention everything you disagree with in a book. It's really disappointing when you think some characters are antagonists or protagonists but you can't get enough about them from the book. Worst still when many people are included but you seem to know little about them or their relevance in the story. I must say your review is a thorough one. Thank you.

Great review! I don't think that I would like this book because of the confusing character names. I tend to like suspense as well, so I don't think that this would be exciting enough for me.

I actually enjoyed what I read. Although you gave the book 3 out of 4, if I read the review first, I would not have read the book.

Great review. I felt the characters scattering in my face as I read the review. People who love crime fiction will love this book I believe.

I can see how the book was not as thrilling as you would have thought due to the title. I do not like that there were random characters that merely filled up space rather than being instrumental in the story. I do like the premise and some of the plot of the story, but I think that there should be more editing. My favorite part of the book was Zoe because of her strong, driven nature.

Sounds like the author needed a good content editor to tighten up the plot. I think I might give this one a miss.

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend including the blurb in the title. It's sad that the book suffers from overselling but the reader is left underwhelmed.

Thanks for the review. I usually enjoy thrillers with dark content and edge of your seat excitement. It'll be interesting to read something more laid back. Although, it throws me off that random characters just show up providing no value and then never returning.

The premise sounds interesting and the title is oddly amusing, but I may have a hard time with so many irrelevant characters. Still, I'll keep this book on my list for when I have time. Thank you for the thorough and insightful review.
