Good review. I love this genre and anything to do with solving murders. It’s interesting that the author used two different writing styles and two different stories to separate Mr.x and the protagonist. I’ll add this to my list.

I'm torn. The review makes me want to read the book however the replies make it not so urgent. I think I'll pass the time. Congrats on the #BOTD

Love the title of the book and how it has two interconnected stories. But yeah the lack of suspense and lots of sex scenes makes me less compelling to read the book. Btw Congratulations on BOTD!

This sounds like an interesting book, and I'm curious as to how the title plays into the murders in the book.

A thriller story with a bit of romance thrown in is very captivating. The review states that there were few clues and therefore couldn’t figure out the killer. That’s sounds like great suspense to me.
Having two intertwined stories told in one just makes it perfect for me.

I actually like books that go back and forth between stories. It makes for an interesting read and I find I read books faster. Add a suspenseful crime thriller as the genre and I'll definitely read it!

I like crime and mystery stories so I think I'll add this to my to read list even though it lacks suspense. I'm just kinda concerned about the ending though. Thanks for your review!

The book sounds rather confusing but, if it's well-written, I guess it would be worth reading. It looks like it has many plot twists, just like a good crime/mystery novel should. I think I'll pass though, since this isn't my favourite genre. Thanks for a great review!

I read the sample and I see what you mean by "two stories." I agree that "X's" story is more descriptive and compelling, while Sam's story is more dry. It could be that Leibig did it intentionally. I look forward to reading this book and discovering who "X" is. Thanks for the intriguing review!

Almost Mortal by Christopher Leibig *Spoilers

I read the free sample of the book, Chapter 1 and it seemed all in all like a really good read. I think the full book in its entirety can be a really good read and I think I may like the character of 'Scarfrowe', the way he has a type of 'bluntness' to the things he says and the way he speaks.

At first, I had no real interest. The intersection of the two stories sounds fascinating. The mystery sounds intriguing, too. It's not easy to move between two stories within the same book and to accomplish this sounds like real talent on the part of the author. The lack of suspense sounds disappointing, though.

Almost Mortal by Christopher Leibig is based on serial killing. I always feel curious about serial killers. I always wonder about their mental state. This novel caught my attention. Congo on botd.

My impression about this book after reading review in one word - confusing. I really liked some points outlined, but others not so much. And that business with two stories in one I just don't get it. Sorry, but I rather pass this one.
