Mixed Blessings by J.M. Muse seems to be a great book but it's not my cup of tea. I will recommend it to friends. Nice review.

Racism in America is sadly still a difficult topic in books. I'm glad there are more and more books covering that and there are a lot of mixed raced characters.

I really liked the ending of the sample when the discussion of race and identity started to come up because it's something I've struggled with and my friends have struggled with. When you're biracial you're put in an awkward place where you don't look white and so you don't benefit from the privilege that your white relatives benefit from. At the same time people don't want you identifying as your minority because "you're not full hispanic/black so it doesn't count"
I'm really glad I got to read some literature that addresses something personal to me.

I wonder why the author started the book with Kim's week-long trip to Mexico, then seemingly abandoned it after the first night. The issue of color is pervasive until now. Will the world ever be color-blind?

Such books are so very important! I loved how you dissected the whole plot without giving away any spoilers

I long for the day when we will be able to look at each other without focusing more on the other person's skin colour. The issue of race is very sensitive and I am curious about the 'new race' mentioned in the book.

I also wish the world would be colour-blind.

I’m interested to see what the author has to say about this “new race.” Sounds like an interesting read!

J.M. Muse book Mixed Blessing sounds like a good read. I like to read stories such as this with religion and family. Excited and I will be back after I read it all.

This sounds interesting and fascinating and the book is an eye-opener on racism, its effects and how people have used this too to their advantage. Thanks for this review.

This sounds like an interesting book, though I am not sure what the actual story is. What is this new race? How does it relate to Kimberly?

I totally like Jgideon's detailed review. I would definitely like to find out more about the racial differences and what the outcome will be, between Khublai Khan and Pastor Tucker Dalton.

Great review! This sounds like a book with a lot of emotional, religious and racially viewed context. I think it would keep someone reading and noting to be bored about. I am curious about a "new race" and how they intended for that to happen. I'm also curious as to how Kimberly fit in with the rest of the story. Congratulations to Mr. Muse on being today's BOTD!

Good review. This book sounds like a great view into the difference kinds of racism out there towards race and religion. I look forward to reading it.
