I agree that you don't know what goes on behind closed doors. However, in this book, the author makes some of those things quite clear to the reader from the beginning and doesn't plant that hook that makes you want more quickly enough.

I’m looking forward to digging into this novel to find out the secrets behind closed doors of Arnold and Tamara who appear like an ideal couple to many and how their seemingly smooth relationship will be rocked by the appearance of Ben. A very intriguing book.

This is a full time curiosity novel good for readers like me. Come to think of it secret meeting with a married man without involving wife is deep. However this story will surely serve us with vital lessons of vigilance. Great review.

This review helps to establish the feel and vibe of the book without spoiling it, giving a good idea of whether the book is right for me. Furthermore, the analyses of the characters and how their written also provides a good insight to whether I'd enjoy it. I agree with the reviewer on how portraying the characters as their happy and well liked selves first and then showing cracks in their lives would make a more interesting story per se, though never the less I think it made me want to read the book more. Thank you for the detailed and insightful review!

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting crime/thriller following the Westlake family after a mysterious man from Tammy's past reenters their lives. When Tammy goes missing, will her husband find out what happened to her? It might be worth a second look. Well done.

I love your honest opinion about how the characters are portrayed and am eager to read it. Although from the sounds of the couple I find they could get a bit annoying which could hinder the enjoyment of the book.

The story itself may have caught my eye, but when I consider the couple's own lives, it doesn't strike me as exciting enough. I may have to pass. Congratulations to the author nonetheless.

This book sounds like a captivating read. I think the concept of 'will they get away with it' in thriller-mystery is intriguing. the profanity would definitely be bother me, but I don't think the awkwardness of the sentence structure choices couldmake this book less enjoyable. Thank you for a well-written review.

I agree about the abruptness of the beginning. I found myself wanting to care about the characters, but surprised by the disdain they seemed to have for one another. Their relationship felt a bit one-dimensional and could have used a bit more complexity. Even so, your review has inspired me to power through to get to the good stuff.

I liked the sample. There are clues early on about what could happen, but I am curious about how things would unravel. One would suppose that Arnie was the villain. What is Gerry's role in the mystery? Is Ben friend or foe? Is Tammy the victim here?

That's a good review there. I'm just hearing the divorce of Steve and then coming here to see this review. This made me realize that you can never really judge a book by it's cover. There's always a lot more that meets the eye.

I don't know what to think about this book. Someone from the past came looking for Tammy but she hides the meeting from her husband, and she is also close with Ben. I wonder how Tammy ended up missing and how Arnie is going to find all the missing pieces of the puzzle.

Even the most mild mannered among us would surprise others with our private behavior. After all, when a serial killer is discovered their neighbors always say, "I never would have expected it." Congratulations on BOTD!
