A lovely trip back in time to the 1920s that perfectly combines humor, mystery, and paranormal themes. It is interesting to watch Hattie's transformation from a conceited, bewildered old woman to a more self-aware and sympathetic figure. Congrats on BOTD.

Thanks for the detailed review! "Hattie Vavaseur" seems like a delightful blend of mystery, humor, and paranormal intrigue. I'm particularly interested in how the characters develop over the course of the story, especially Hattie and the master of the house. And Vamelda sounds like a riot with her honest yet embellished act. Can't wait to dive into this one!

I thoroughly enjoyed her wacky sense of humor. If you add to this mix a murdered salesman’s ghost, Vamelda’s unusual niece, a beautiful seductress (who may be leading men to their deaths), and several additional ghosts, one has the makings of an intriguing story.
- Sounds eerily fascinating. The reviewer certainly has a way with words, to hook the reader. Thank you.

This was a truly captivating review. It has made me save this book, as I might have otherwise skimmed over it. I look forward to the humor, the interactions of all the characters, paranormal experiences, and a good mystery. I'm glad this was selected as BOTD and look forward to enjoying it.

Hattie being arrogant was not so nice but I believe that reading this book would enlighten me better about her personality. This plot is very interesting.

Valmelda volunteering to help Hattie with her memory problem was really a good act and this keeps me wondering what mystery this book holds.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting thriller story following Hattie, who ends up in a strange mansion in a strange town. She cannot remember why she came to the mansion, but will she be able to leave the same way she arrived? It might be worth a second look. Well done.
