I'm not interested in the casino world, so I wouldn't want to read this book.

Gambling can be pretty addictive. The book features the bad effects of gambling on individuals. I am a sensitive reader but I'm too curious to pass on the book. Congratulations on BOTD.

The play on pairadice/paradise is really clever. Ironically, I've never had any desire to go to a casino, but am willing to live vicariously through this thriller. Great review!

I have been employed by a casino and have also worked in making the slot machines. The algorithims are set to reset every 200 spins, which causes the jackpots to be more difficult to win. I also know there are the bingo style slots that it matters what card is showing in the corner (you don't get to pick and it changes every spin) that whatever numbers you pick may win money or they may not. I am not a gambler, because I don't throw my money away on something, but I have first hand experience in witnessing people spending their entire paycheck and winning nothing; then they do it all over again week after week. Gambling addiction is a real issue. Nice reveiw.

I have virtually no interest in casinos, so this book is probably a pass for me. I hope others will enjoy the story though!

I have seen how much damage gambling can do to a family. Me, myself have tried it once before and didn't like how overwhelmed I felt while playing, wanted more. I don't see casinos / online casinos stopping anytime soon. This is a must read.

A fictional novel based on a gambling website. That is a pretty unique plotline. As someone who enjoys gambling, I think this book would be interesting.

Great review. I love that this book is written by a woman and the female protagonists are strong, career-oriented women with a drive to succeed. Gambling is indeed a serious and powerful addiction and it seems the author did some research before writing the book. The author did have one fact right: that gambling houses are rigged to win at the expense of the poor, unsuspecting patrons. Even after suffering heavy losses, gambling addicts are fueled by the thought that the next gamble might be the lucky one. Uncontrolled gambling destroys homes, lives, marriages and success. I would love to finish reading this book to see how the story plays out. Great selection for book of the day.

I'm overjoyed to have found this book. I'm also delighted that a book specifically addresses gambling addiction. The review indicates that it has a big influence. However, as I have no interest in casinos or gambling, I have no desire to read it.

Do you enjoy going to casinos? Do you have a gambling habit? Then this fictional tale, Trapped in Pairadice by Becky Bronson, might be for you.
Although this is a fictional book, the author has included actual statistical data concerning addictions and the government's involvement in keeping the gambling industry profitable.

The above quotes from the review are precisely why I believe this book isn't for me. I'm sure anyone interested in the inner workings of casinos would enjoy this, but to anyone who has been touched or seen a gambling addiction up close, I feel this would be a trigger. Thanks for the great review.

This fictional tale sounds like it covers a real-life issue well. I am interested in learning more about the connection between political corruption, manipulation, gambling, and addictions. Thank you for your recommendation, and congrats on BOTD.

Gambling addiction is as terrible a condition as any other addiction. I find it intriguing to know a little more about how casinos operate and how they manipulate gamblers to keep betting.
