What will happen to Sheriff Steel and his buddy, Wes, as they pursue a drug lord along the Texas-Mexican border? Seems very dangerous! Randall Reneau is a skilled writer. The plot is sure to be gripping. :techie-studyinggray:

I'm not particularly fond of books involving drug lords and related types of crime, so I'll skip this one. However, from the review, it appears that for those who enjoy this type of novel, this book should be right up their alley. Congrats to the author on BOTD.

This looks like a good crime thriller mystery suspense. Not knowing where the plot will lead, whether the characters are in the good or bad side will hook anyone. The author's style of writing, of introducing things slowly in the beginning, then going full in at the endz seemed to have paid off because it had you hooked. I would not have minded the errors, although the book could do with them, because they were minor, as you have showed them above. Good review. Insightful and amazing.

Great review. I really enjoy crime thrillers, and "South of Good" by Randall Reneau is no exception. While the book was slow paced, I think the buildup was worth it. The suspense and plot twists were also engaging, and I loved that the scenes were unpredictable. The character of Hardin Steel was a well developed one, and his complex nature made him an even intriguing character. Great book.

Thank you for your honest review on "South of good" by Randall Reneau. Hardin Steel, also known as "Stainless" by old friends, is the Sheriff of Cameron County, located near the Mexico - Texas border. Sheriff Steel is no stranger to drug busts, but things quickly head south when his buddy Wes bites off more than he can chew. You'll have to read the book to find out what happens to Hardin and Wes which is why I have put it on my shelf. Congratulations to the author for BOTD.

A story of a border town's war on drugs with interesting characters from the start. Stainless is not your average Sheriff, nor is he your typical hero, but I'm interested to find out how he will help his friend Wes who has got in too deep with a cartel.

“South of Good” is the first book in the Hardin Steel series by Randall Reneau. It follows Hardin Steel, an ex-DEA officer who becomes the elected sheriff of a small Texas county. The novel delves into unconventional and often illegal actions as Steel faces dangerous adversaries, including Russian mercenaries, the Cuban Mafia, and a powerful Mexican cartel. The plot is gripping, with unexpected twists and an intriguing ending. If you enjoy crime fiction with unique characters and a fresh take on drug-related themes, this book is worth a read! 📚🔍
