Thanks for the review; I never thought about commenting on how comfortable I felt in each separate setting as you did, but it makes a lot of sense - I might borrow this technique! In any case, I agree that this book is one worth reading and it is fast-paced. I haven't gotten to the "hurry up and wait" times yet.

I have a weird adverse response to things having to do with the SS or Nazi regime or the Vatican, so it would take a bit for me to decide to read this one. Conspiracy theory type books I also have a limited tolerance for (too many conspiracy theorists in my family. It exhausts me.) I think this one will have to be a pass for me, but love the review.

It appears Vatican Protocol has all the right elements for a great thriller. There's a lot going on with the description of the plot. Aliens, Nazis, the Vatican, and the CIA are great for arousing excitement in the reader; however, when a plot description is inflated with overwrought details, I always wonder if the story is going to fall short on execution. Gradually building suspense as the plot thickens is awesome, but if the suspense is built to such a high level, too quickly, the plot resolution has the potential for falling short. It's kind of like losing your virginity. You wait and wait, build up high expectations, and then when it happens...meh. I'll have to read this one to see if the hype measures up. :D

Thanks for a thorough review! It's impressive that the writing quality led you to give it a perfect rating despite the errors! Investigative journalism can be super interesting to read; especially if they involve UFOs ;) Thanks for introducing us to this book!

The book deserves the 4 out of 4 stars rating for sure. I hope that the highlighted errors will be worked to ensure that there will be no such errors after they have been seen by the reviewer.

I find UFO stories completely fascinating. I have never really made up my mind if I believe that there have been UFO sightings but the concept of a UFO cover-up sounds so cool!

On your comment about referring to the main character by his first then his last name in the same paragraph, I have noticed this in other novels as well. I'm not sure if it's simply to seem less redundant or in one spot the author wants to create a more formal tone and in another sentence create a less formal tone. I don't particularly care for that habit either. I actually read a book about Henry VIII recently and the author continuously swapped between referring to him as Henry and Harry in places it made no sense. Not sure if there was any potential method to how the author did it in this book. I find that it can make sense if the point of view changes such as if someone is speaking versus a third person narrator.

Alien stories are one of the few topics that still make me shiver so between your review and the prologue I've just read, I'm really looking forward to continuing with this book. It's really disappointing to hear about the typos and other errors though as I've quit books for having excessive mistakes.

The premise of this one sounds interesting - I love the idea of investigating these UFOs from decades ago. I feel like this must have been a great read if you were willing to overlook all the errors and still rate the book so highly! I'll have to add this one to me 'to read' list.

This sounds like a very twisted and exciting new book, I'm glad you liked it and look forward to reading it myself. I think I will enjoy it despite the grammatical and spelling errors. I do love UFO, Alien, and conspiracy related themes and this one seems to have the best of all of it. Thank you for the nice review.

This sounds like a great story! You already had me at UFOs, and then I found out it was a plot-driven tale of global proportions to boot. Most UFO conspiracy books that I know of always seem to take place in Roswell, so having the story centered on Germany and Poland will be a nice change.

I love your review. It seems like you really enjoyed it.
I love books that revolve around real events. I'm not certain that this actually happened, but I love the events, and the author's take on it. I love the UFO idea, and the Nazi twist! The imagination of the author is evident in your explanation is vivid, and I am interested in reading this book. Cheers.

Great review bookowlie. The book is definitely a thriller with conspiracies and cover ups that keep the reader glued till the end. I can't wait to read the book too.
