I just started reading this book and I have to say I was captured from the first word. This seems like it is going to be a great read. I can't wait to get back to it.

Thanks for the great review. I'm glad that you enjoyed the book and that the editing issues have been fixed. It does sound like Haatim is extremely sheltered and that would be a little hard to believe. In countries that may not have t.v. they definitely have guns, so yeah! ? ! Love a good mystery and will add this to the want to read list!

Congrats on BOTD!

When I read that this was a horror novel and I saw the title, I dont know why but I immediately thought of Poe. This doesn't seem like a book I can get into because I'm not a fan of horror or depressing stories. This still seems like a novel that will be interesting to many readers though.

Great review sounds like a really interesting read and now that editing has tidied the novel up it may be a better read

Good review. I agree that while it's a thriller it wasn't too gruesome or anything. I enjoyed the book as well.

I finished this just a few days ago and I absolutely loved it. I'm not usually into supernatural stories but this one held me from the start. The characters and plot are very well-developed and I already can't wait to read the sequel. I couldn't help but fall in love with Abigail and Haatim and the unlikely bond that formed between them. I agree that Haatim comes off as a little naive and immature at times, but I steadily grew to like him as I got to know him a little more. I, too, was a little thrown off by some of the editorial errors and even the wrong name being used at one point (One minute it was Derrick and the next Tim), but I enjoyed the story so much that I didn't let it deter me too much. Thank you for the honest review!

I enjoyed reading your review, but this book is too dark and gory for me. I don't think I'm going to read the whole thing, so thanks for summarizing the plot so I'd know which way to go.

Great review! I really enjoyed reading Raven's Peak. The nonstop action was fun to read and I really liked the characters. I agree with the point you made about Haatim's character.

It sounds refreshing to not have a forced romance between two characters! I usually find anything too overtly religious to be not for me but I would give this book a shot thanks to your review.

I love your review and I like that the author had a girl as a mentor/protector of the male character. I also enjoyed that the author did not force a romantic relationship to occur because that does not happen in real life. I like that the book centers on having hope and finding your place in society. Great review!

I agree with your review! I felt like Haatim's character was a little immature. I also felt like his theology degree would allow him to be a bit more prepared for what he was facing. Sure his knowledge came into play towards the end but he just seemed really helpless a lot which was frustrating to me!
