A plot that includes a combination of gangsters and investment bankers is something certainly worth looking forward to. This is a great recommendation and congratulations on the book of the day.

'Official Review: Shooting Bogies' by Ralph Monti has a good introduction. It shares the bright points of the action thriller book. The reactions to the book provided by the reviewer were interesting to follow. This is the story of Rocky Delmonico, a big money-golf hustler, who attends the funeral of a neighborhood mafioso. The book takes readers on a wild ride through the dark side of society. The author blends elements of suspense, action, and dark humor. It was great to learn that readers who enjoy a well-told story would appreciate the book!

The story combines action, suspense and dark humor in a masterful way. The dark humor adds a unique touch that lightens the intensity of the suspense, while the unexpected twists keep the tension on the edge of the seat.

I will agree with you that the author so well developed the characters and gave them unique personality. From my sampling of the book, I found the personality of Rocky very interesting and personality of other characters to be real such as Pipe and Louie. Congrats on BOTD.

By Ralph Monti, "Shooting Bogies" is a gripping military thriller that includes some heartbreaks about military aviation. The action moves right along amidst a backdrop of multi-dimensional characters as they work through the biggest rigors of aerial combat.
Strengths:
1. Real military details brought to bear have the expertise of Monti.
2. Very nice fast-action sequences that hold interest and suspense.
3. The characters have roundness and relatability.
4. The story's historical aspects explore matters of military import.
Weaknesses:
1. Some military jargon may intimidate some audiences.
2. Character development could go deeper still.
Key Takeaway:
1. Realistic experience of military life.
2. Exciting action in the air.
3. Emotional depth: The characters' struggles and victories resonate.
Recommendation:
"Shooting Bogies" is ideal for readers who enjoy:
1. Military fiction (e.g., Tom Clancy, Dale Brown).
2. Stories replete with action and intrigue.
3. People who are current about aviation and military history.
Rating: 4.3/5 stars.
Critique:
Although some will have trouble with military jargon, Monti's creativity, high-energy action, and fully grounded characters make "Shooting Bogies" thoroughly laudable.
