Story of 4 friends with a touch of humor? Love the idea. Great review too!

Thank you for your thoughtful review. I appreciated how you noted that it might not be suitable for younger audiences, so that it wouldn't be a surprise.

From the sound of your review, it appears that you thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Not sure it us for me though because of the violence and gore you hinted at. Well done an an excellent review though.

Demons, gore, and a talking dagger. Not something I am interested in. No doubt those who like humorous horror books will be quite pleased to see it as the BOTD. Congrats.

The preview that I read was a good intro and left me on a good cliff hanger, the story is very relatable which makes it a good read for teens today. The most relatable part was the teacher being a dick and the relationships that they have with each other.Out of 10 stars I would rate the intro an 8.

We don't always find science fiction books talking about demons, it's refreshing when you do. This sounds like an intriguing book. Studying for the SAT sure is an unusual plot. Thank you for the review!!

"Shaun of the Dead" and "Evil Dead" make way for "Demon Freaks" by J.R.R.R. (Jim) Hardison (3 R's, greatness exponentially!) This whole premise sounds like a hoot because who else doesn't think a golfer's association is evil!?! LOL

The book cover and title certainly had a negative effect on me. I was not interested in reading the sample. However, to my surprise, I actually enjoyed reading it. The book's humor and dialogue captured my attention and kept me reading to the end (of the sample). The review makes me a little concerned about whether I would actually enjoy reading this book. I am not a fan of gore and demons. I agree that this book is for a certain audiance.

The review is pretty enthusiastic, so it must be really interesting. I like paranormal novels and to read one with a humorous twist is a bonus. I like the fact that the book is not just some shallow, unrealistic story that has no sense; according to the review the author describes enough serious paranormal actions and adventures that will be exciting to read about. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

According to Freud and many impoprtant thinkers of mental issues, a sense of humor is the most important sign of a healthy personality. Especially when we combine it, as the author has done with blood, guts and laughter, where humans release these two opposite flames in our inner hells. I will read this book drawn by the great reviews and comments. Thanks for the opportunity!

Demon Freaks by Jim Harrison. This is definitely a book I would read. It reminds me of being a teenager and finding yourself in situations and legitimately no knowing how you got there. This is going on my reading list.

Demon Freaks by Jim Hardison
I felt it was about kids wanting to do their own thing. I have never read any of his books but was interestin.
Sometimes just the book cover makes me want to see just what is happening.

This sounds like a very funny read! I like how the author takes such a dark supernatural theme and turns it humorous. I might give this one a try!
