**SPOILER**
The first chapter of Do a Little Wrong by Don Dahler, was gripping. It starts off with the main character facing off with another character, though the nature of the situation and their relationship is unclear. They both have knives, so they're clearly not casual friends; however, there is nothing to give away that they're enemies until further along. It was a riveting way to read through a fight, and a heartening way to start the book. I want to emphasize that I was fully prepared for this situation to be a mentor-student scenario with the way Kyle taunted the Consuelo Cabral into releasing his anger, his criticism of the blade choices (which, I will admit, was fascinating and has peaked my curiosity), and the overall disparity in their skill levels.
I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out Kyle was retrieving something from him, instead.

As much as I agree that I thought of Batman while reading this book, I would probably more compare Kyle Royce to Durzo Blint(minus the powers of the Ka'kari).

The only reservations I have about the book are the spelling and grammar errors. I.e. Discrete versus Discreet, and "the my hand." However, overall, these are quite minor and can be edited out.

I will continue reading this book. Thank you.

Wow. I just love this plot. It sounds a little Batman-esque, but honestly the idea is original enough with such a character that I think it sounds really great. I watched a tv show once that was meant to have a similar premise each season and loved it even though it got cancelled, so I’m pretty excited about this one.

Sounds like an exciting read. I wonder how Kyle lost his parents, an event that clearly shaped his future. Thanks for the great review!

I read the sample before reading your review, and I too was hooked right away. Enough that I texted my dad to recommend that he check it out. (It is intriguing, but more his style). I tend to not like conspiracy stories, or books revolving around 9/11 (completely irrational dislike!) But the sample was enough to make me overlook that prejudice and your review gives me all the more reason. I have enough books to keep me going for several lifetimes, but this one is going near the top of the pile.

Don has got a really got book here with Do A Little Wrong. I loved the way he wrote. It filled me with intrigue and wonder… and I just wanted to keep reading it, to find out what will happen next.

I just love the name Kyle Royce. It at once reminded me of Rolls-Royce, which to me was good, as it uplifted the character and gave it a classy feel - Instead of all the Johns and Smiths that we see in almost every 5th novel out!

Just a bit worried here, the character sounds very much on the lines of Bruce Wayne. I just hope that Don has no intention of taking this book along the lines of Batman.

Who needs another Batman or Bruce Wayne? I feel that taking this path, could lead to killing the creativity and the intrigue that the book has.

I wish Don the very best on this journey of his.:)

Thank you for your 4-star review –– I would give this book no more than 2 out of 4 stars. Nevertheless, I think it will probably please readers who can swallow the initial premise of the clever good-guy Americans vs. the stupid bad Brazilians, and who have a high tolerance for errors of spelling and grammar.

Your review states that "while I found a very few spelling and grammar mistakes in the book, they certainly didn’t distract me from the overall story and indeed would very likely be overlooked by a reader less picky than myself." Well, I suppose I'm pickier than you are. In the first 1% of this book I noticed that "Joao Consuelo" becomes "Joao Consuela," "João" is spelled "Joao" throughout, while "Wüsthof" is spelled "Wusthof" on the one occasion where it appears. Perhaps the author thinks that writing diacritical marks is not worth the trouble, or that it makes no difference. But to anyone with an idea of the language involved, the absence of these symbols is a glaring spelling error.

Shortly after that, the novel includes the sentence, "The Brazilian stared at the knife, then at my face, then back at the knife, unsure of what just transpired." I'm not sure whether that missing "had" is a grammatical mistake, or simply a typo, but in any case such blunders bother me and interfere with my enjoyment of the book. Sorry, but I will not finish reading "Do a Little Wrong," even though it's free.

I opened the book and read a small sample, I have to say I'm very impressed with the writing style. This is a wonderful and very detailed review and I think I'll have to check out the book based on your summary and the chapter I read.

Awesome review! This looks like a fantastic mystery/thriller, and I'm so glad the main character was relatable despite his wealth. Thanks for the write-up! :)

Mr. Dahler's book reminds me of a crime where one was known in his home country as dead while he was teaching in a university in another country.
This story seems to be full of drama.

I absolutely love the sound of this from your review. It has kind of a superhero/antihero feel about it. Playboy billionaire by day, secret rescuer by night...Does this scream Batman/arrow to anybody else?

And you've just compared it, rather favourably to Jack Reacher so I'm definitely sold on this.

Thanks so much for the review, I'm eager to get started on the book since reading it.

Oh wow, I wish I could watch the movie of this story...if there is one already! The story sounds fascinating, interesting and drawing. I would love to read the book sometimes. Thanks for this amazing review.

I am hooked by the penmanship Don Dahler portrays in this book. Gripping twists and turns keep you on edge and he delivers quite a punch. Definitely worth the read...

Somehow, it reminds me of Batman but one who caters a very specific set of clients. I definitely love the premise of this book. I look forward to reading the action scenes since you mentioned that Kyle has some fighting skills. Thanks for the review!

I'm totally intrigued both by the idea of doing a little wrong to do a great right and that of searching for someone believed dead. I don't read action thrillers much, but I've grabbed my free copy of this today.
