This definitely sounds like a book that I would read. I like the title also has a symbolism to it which makes the story deeper. I love the mystery elements of it and your review makes me want to discover more. I can picture the beautiful scenery of rural Tennessee including the mountains and deep valleys. My favorite part was Tina's fashion sense and the Dolly Parton quote of "it takes a lot of money to look this cheap".

Cozy mysteries are my #1 favorite genre, so it's no surprise that my excitement about today's BOTD is high! Yay! This highly-rated, first in series page-turner combines humor, mystery, and murder, keeping the reader fully engaged and guessing through to the end! Thank you for your review and recommendation! :-)

I was drawn in by reading the sample pages and this review - otherwise I definitely would have been in the group that bypassed this book. I agree the characters are showing promise as the disarmingly and charmingly compelling characters Janet Ivanovich created. Hoping this is a series!

I like to read cozy mysteries on occasion, I do like the sound of this one and would probably read it. Thanks for your review, it explained way more than the description on the cover.

A small town mystery told with humor sounds delightful. I love the Stephen Tyler scarecrow! This sounds like a novel I could really enjoy. Thank you for the very fine introduction to this book.

I’ll admit, looking at the cover photo I didn’t expect it to be a mystery. But I do think the title fits the mystery vibe, it would be better if the picture would have shown the “mist” though and maybe not the pig. I’m a fan of cozy mysteries, so I might read it.

A small town mystery with a touch of humour seems perfect.

I agree with your comments on the title.

Thank you for the great review.

What a great review! I agree about the title of the book. I almost overlooked it myself had I not come across this review. It sounds like a great read and I will have to give it a try. Congratulations to the author on Book of the Day!

The Mist Rises Over Notchey Creek by Liz Andrews seems like a mystery story with lots of interesting incidents. There are murders, disappearances, and the main character who investigate the murder has cancer. So, the story seems like a package of interesting elements.

After reading the sample of this book, I wasn't sure whether or not it was for me. Your review answered a lot of my questions, and I think I will pick this one up!

I love stories set in small towns because there are usually a number of interesting and eccentric characters featured in them. This book sounds like it is no exception and between this review and the sample of the book that I read I am already in love with it. The review seems to describe the book wonderfully and I love the descriptions of the personalities and the old motor car and so on. I will definitely read this book as the review is written in such a warm manner that I almost wish that I could go and live in this small town.

Honestly, the description of the book does not interest me. I saw it on The Book of the Day page and the cover did not interest me. The title especially did not interest me. Normally, I am not one for cozy mysteries. That being said, I checked out the preview of the book and was instantly drawn in.

Your description of the town and the characters also have me greatly intrigued. And, I always appreciate good humor in a book. I'd read it just for the situations you talked about.

Amazing how a review can turn a book I wouldn't touch in a million years to a must-read for me! It is a book I definitely would have overlooked, if not for your review.

This looks to be a great mystery set against small town USA. The promise of some humor with well developed characters caught my eye. I agree the cover of the book would not have enticed me to pick the book up. Your review did.

Now, here is a book that sounds like a ride. When you have a female on the case with such complexity set in such a premise it is guaranteed to be good. Better yet, your review hit it where it is supposed to.

Another great example of what good cozy mystery should look like! I really love this genre and will gladly read this new story even though I was unaware about this author previously.
