"Final Notice" by Van Fleisher is a thought-provoking novel that seamlessly blends science fiction with contemporary social issues. Set in the USA, it explores the ramifications of a device that predicts the end of life due to illness or old age. The narrative dives deep into the ethical and moral dilemmas posed by such technology, particularly in the context of gun ownership. The book's well-paced plot and multidimensional characters keep readers engaged, while raising critical questions about responsibility and the human condition. This novel is a compelling read for those interested in the intersections of technology, mortality, and societal issues.

Final Notice has a compelling story that dishes out the fallout of a new technology that can predict someone's final moments. Vince and Trudi are a charming senior couple. They are aware of the rapidly evolving environment. Vince is engrossed in the news about gun ownership after what happened at the mall. After reading the thorough review and sampling a few pages, I found it promising. Congrats to the author on BOTD! Adding this to my TBR list.

Wow! A scientific device that monitors my organs and tell me how much time I have, and even notifies me when the time is near? That is intriguing enough. Congratulations on winning BOTD.

Set against the backdrop of America's debate on gun ownership, Fleisher weaves a captivating narrative that follows the doctors who invented the "final notice" technology, those who receive the life-altering predictions, and an elderly couple caught in the midst of an increasingly hostile world.

I’not sure if I’d want to know precisely when my life will be ending, it would be too much of a heavy load. This book is one of those page-turners that can hold a reader’s attention well. Good to see that it covers the questions posed by those questioning gun ownership.

This book's concept is captivating. It delves into the intriguing notion of seeking revenge despite knowing one's impending demise. The unintended repercussions of scientific progress have long fascinated humanity, and this narrative adds a compelling twist to that discussion. I'm definitely adding this to my must-read list! The suspense it promises is tantalizing. If there were a film adaptation, I can imagine myself on the edge of my seat throughout. Thanks for sharing your review!

Wow quite interesting. Soon such a watch will come to reality if not so already where it can predict how long one still has on earth and prepare for the demise.
Thanks and well-done.

The concept of a device predicting the end of life is both intriguing and unsettling. It seems like the book tackles some heavy topics like gun ownership and personal responsibility, which makes it very relevant today.

This novel has a beautiful style that is intriguing from the first chapter on. However, its synopsis makes no sense in most countries, since in these countries access to, among other things, firearms is lower than in the United States, which makes the latter country much more insecure than the previous ones. Likewise, apart from the possibility of using these weapons against others, there are many other things that humans could do to each other if they knew how many days they had left to live that remain despicable.
