The book is very relatable to the real world but it's still a fiction. Sounds quite entertaining indeed! Thanks for the insightful review!

This social drama about the dynamics and hurdles faced by the individuals from this community sounds a bit heavy for me. Parents of adolescent girls will see the value of House of Hoops on the basis that it speaks to issues that adolescent girls may relate to. Thanks for the great review!

Uneven pacing might be a good thing for some stories. But, I prefer to stay away from rushed endings. Thanks for the review!

The other Hillary Broome novels haven't really appealed to me, but this one looks like it has potential. The issues interest me, but basketball not so much. Thanks for a great review.

This book doesn’t really interest me, but I like that it has complex storylines that interconnect with the plot and environment.

This is a timely book of the day with the basketball tournament winding down. The characters sound like they are very well developed, and the storyline appropriate for our times. I will add this to my to-read list. Thanks for a thorough review.

I'd love to add the latest novel in the Hillary Broom series to my reading list. I wonder what will happen with the community center Hillary promotes. Will Charlie's plans succeed? How will Hillary's relationship with her daughter evolve? Thanks for your review!

It gives me so many chills that this book was written before Gianna and Kobe Bryant passed away. However, it's not the kind of book I would normally read.

The review is informative. Thank you. This novel is intriguing. One thing I know about villains (I am assuming that in this story, Charlie is the bad guy) is that they usually have a very valid reason for their actions. I look forward to finding out what exactly in his past made him loathe the construction of his hometown. Congrats on being the BOTD.

I think your review is to the point and quite clear. I couldn't find the connection between crime and basketball before. This seems straightforward to me now and the story looks very intriguing. Thank you for a great review!

Basketball is not my thing, so that part of the book holds little interest for me. I can empathize with Charlie wanting to keep the neighborhood as it has been - kind of a tribute to its past history. Unfortunately, I have seen (as a child) how lives are thrown into chaos just in the name of 'progress.' Sorry, but I just disagree with pressuring people to give up homes that have been in their family for generations just so the city can use the land to forward its own agenda. So I'm on Charlie's side in this. I don't know that I'll read the book, but thanks for the insightful and thorough review!

Well 2020 did suprise us. The storyline seems intriguing, relating real life events with the fiction is quite fascinating. I will definitely give this book a worth read.
