Wow! I’m not sure what I would do if put in Hailey’s place. I love a good thriller and maybe I could overlook the lack of character development.

After Hailey witnessed a murder after her bike ride, she questions everything. Having to write an interview with the murderer, she doesn't know what to do. Is her dream of finding happiness in Utah a failure?

The book sounds exciting. It will be interesting to find out who was involved in that murder Hailey witnessed and why no actioned were taken even after reporting that murder. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Mysteries and crime thrillers are my go-to and I’m intrigued by the premise of this story. I’m curious to know how the story plays out for Hailey and Relic. Great review.

A fast-paced novel is such a fascinating read. This seems to be the kind of book that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. From the review, the only part that seems not so good about the book is on character development. However, I think Broken Inn by Andrew Baldwin is worth considering. Great Review!

This book sounds like an engaging and exciting read despite the errors that you found. I agree with the rating of this book because the structure of the novel needs to flow easily and allow the reader to fully immerse themselves in the story. The biggest disappointment that I had was the lack of character development. If there is no one that you connect with, then the novel becomes boring.

Broken inn is such an amazing book from the storyline, but all thanks am not interested! A nice review though.

Hi!

I am sorry you believe the characters needed further development. I personally dislike stories without/with very little development. Their actions and growth often move the plot forward.

Regarding the plot, the combination of murdered in cold blood and having to solve a mystery seems too often used in stories. I like mysteries if there is something unique and I wonder if I should read the book to find a special moment for me.

"Broken Inn" by A.W. Baldwin - Another "Relic" novel. Relic is a great character, he always takes the high road and gives his opponents the benefit of the doubt. In this novel, Hailey is recovering from the death of her mother; her grief is spoiling her chances of graduating from college, so her adviser and friend persuades Hailey to take an internship in Utah, where she meets up with murder and Relic. That's it! According to the review this is the type of book I like to dive in and get disconnected for couple of hours. It was really insightful. Congrats to Broken Inn by A.W. Baldwin in making it to the BOTD.

A crime thriller that incorporates suspense and mystery to keep the reader engaged. I'm curious as to whether Burke or realized that Hailey knew about his involvement in the murder. This makes for a great read for crime thriller fans. Great review!

Special case for me, because I was introduced to the wonders of A.W. Baldwin by this forum and author quickly gained a place among my favorites. Very creative, adventurous and crazy talented any and all new books are a welcome surprise and according to review this one is a prime example that minor details can't change much!
