I love when authors create quirky characters! This sounds like a wonderful, cozy mystery, and I can't wait to dive into it!
"We're all going to die, all of us, what a circus! That alone should make us love each other, but it doesn't. We are terrorized and flattened by trivialities, we are eaten up by nothing."

Thanks for the great review. I read the first several pages of the book and it looks like a fun read. Your description of the characters sounds interesting. There's no combination like fishing and murder.

I am excited to read this! Sounds like a mystery based around a relatable and interesting main character - I wonder if later books in the series will be as good!

I absolutely love this review. A few sentences in and I'm already ready to grab up my copy and start reading. I love a good cozy mystery and how they are such a refreshing break from the genres I normally read. I like how this book is written in first person so I'm sure it will be a fun read. Thanks for the awesome review! Congrats to the author on #BOTD

Thanks for the review. It sounds like the book had a little of everything except jump out at you action. Sometimes that is enough to knock it down a star, but at least this had everything else to keep you engaged and were able to give it the full four stars.

Delightful review! I adore a good cozy mystery. They usually make the perfect light hearted read for a summer day with a book in the shade and some iced tea or curled up indoors with a blanket on a rainy day. When I read "The author makes the characters jump out of the page and brings the story to life. When Slicker went fishing, I was transported to sea with him and could feel the excitement of angling. For a time, I felt like I was transported to Key West." I knew that this book was a must read for me. Thanks so much for sharing.

Free Fish Friday, is an interesting and amazing because as Slacker Mills was moving from Port to Port trying to see how he can solve the death of his friend Jerry, he landed in western Florida where he go a hot job as a hotel manager, the job which gave him peace to do other things he was desiring.

I ve just started reading this and so far your review reflects what I've read so far. It's sometimes nice to have a characters a bit more elaborated on, especially when part of a series. Great review, thanks
