I don't know how I feel about associating my country with the opposite or the south of "good." I know we have a drug trafficking problem, but for once, I'd like to see it represented for something else. I do love unpredictable endings, though. Thank you for your review!
And I agree, boys in books are just better 😉.

The novel had a slow start, which the action/suspense reader found fascinating, but Reneau's additions of narrative twists and thrills piqued the reader's interest and made the book worthwhile to read.

Set on the Mexico-Texas border the timely story of Sheriff Steel and his friend, Wes, could be full of current event-type action. I love that the Sheriff’s nickname is: Stainless.
"South of good" by Randall Reneau Is a mostly fast-paced mystery with twists and page-turning action. The reviewer wrote an excellent review and even suggested this could be a good basis for a film. ♥️

When I first started reading your review, I was unsure whether to read this book. If I do read it, I will at least not get impatient when I start out reading the book. I love the C/T/M/H genre and am always looking for a good book to read. I too like to predict where things are going to go. But I like it even more if the author outwits me. I will be adding this book to my to-read list due to your frank review. Thank you for sharing.

The book is an intriguing one that focuses on crime and drama. I enjoy the thrills with which the author writes and am eager to experience the suspense it promises. Typically, stories about the good guys catching the bad guys end up with a twist that makes you root for the bad guys. I'm excited to see how this unfolds, especially since it involves the fight against drugs—I really hope the good guys prevail in this one. Thanks for highlighting the author's skillful writing; it piqued my interest. Congratulations to the author on BOTD.

A must read for crime novel fans. The plot development is enthralling and unpredictable. I love good thriller that will keep the readers guessing until the end. Although this promises to be action packed, I think it isn't my type of book. Excellent review!

My love affair for the name of the protagonist in this book knows no bounds. HARDIN STEEL. I mean, every man I met in my life before I was maybe … now, wished he was named Hardin Steel and had the goods to back it up. The other names too, Baron Frederick Beck - that name is a treasure. This book is too good. I’m reading it!!!

From this review, i understand that "South of good" by Randall Reneau is a novel about Hardin Steel and his friend, the Sheriff of Cameron County, as they were laid and executed plans about catching drug lords. Interesting read.

Oh, wow! I love intrigues and investigative novels. The review entices readers with a glimpse of the life of Detective Hardin Steel, aka 'Stainless, ' the Sheriff of Cameron County in "South of good" by Randall Reneau. The detective was in pursuit of a major drug lord with his friend, Wes. It was a captivating read, as the review mentioned.
