"The Prescription" by K C Gilbert discusses people affected by some addictive painkillers. On the other hand, the manufacturers of these addictive painkillers continue their production and distribution unhindered, even though they are aware that these drugs also cause addiction.

Opioid addiction is a big problem in the United States, and the consequences are disastrous. Despite this novel being fictional, it presents real problems and exposes just how evil big pharma is regarding this epidemic. Thanks for the review!

I like how this book offers essential knowledge on lawsuits and the pharmaceutical industry despite being a fiction book. The author's skillful delivery of this information within the plot context without overwhelming the reader makes this an informative and entertaining book.

My distrust of the pharmaceutical industry goes back many years; my aversion runs deep. The medical industry has destroyed the quality of life for too many of my friends and family members. Therefore, although this is a fascinating review and sounds like an interesting book, now is just not the right time for me. Perhaps a future read.Overall, the reviewer believes that "The Prescription" would be a valuable addition to anyone's library, particularly for those interested in legal matters and the pharmaceutical industry.

Addiction is a silent killer. I appreciate the author's effort at bringing something so sensitive and important as the dangers of addiction.

Chris meets her longtime friend Shannon, who is currently battling addiction after a knee injury led her to take painkillers, which are addictive. Shannon collapsed in front of the hospital. Will she survive? Will the pharmaceutical company responsible for producing addictive medications get prosecuted? Read the book for its realistic depiction of drug addiction.

I've got mixed feelings about painkillers that make individuals addicted to drugs. If there's an alternative to these types of painkillers, shouldn't pharmacists pursue them instead of producing the ones that have proven harmful to humans?

A legal thriller is perfect for me at the moment. Even though I don't work in the legal profession, I do have an interest in the law and I do enjoy hearing about court cases. The topic of addictive painkillers is also fascinating for me as I have been learning more about it recently. Shannon's story sounds compelling. Thanks for the review. I can't wait to read the book.

A fictional treatment of the real-life opioid crisis, "The Prescription" by K C Gilbert has received a rave review. There are aspects of medical and legal thriller running through the story and the reviewer thinks that lawyers and those interested in the law would like this book. I especially like the line in the review that says, paraphrasing: No one is above the law. I am glad to see that Chris, Shannon, and the rest of the characters in this book play out a real problem but in fictional form.

Thank you for your insightful review on "The Prescription" by K C Gilbert. The author discusses the number of people affected by addictive painkillers called Opioid and Zilontin and how their manufacturers, despite being aware of their addictiveness, continued production and distribution of these drugs. Even though this is not a true story, it is a very real problem in today's world. People are given pain killers for their pain they have from either an injury or surgery but are not monitored and unfortunately end up being addicted to these drugs. Some end up seeing other doctors or Emergency Department doctors for another prescription claiming to be in pain and then it escalates. Some sell these drugs for more powerful ones like heroin. The pharmaceutical companies are million dollar companies that keep making stronger and stronger drugs and they are not being held accountable for the drugs that become available regardless of the price. This book is an interesting read and I have put it on my shelf especially since it is temporarily free on Amazon. This is the kind of information we should read and gain knowledge about regarding what the government is doing to stop the pharmaceutical companies gain even more control and cause more harm and death to individuals too ill to help themselves.

K. C. Gilbert's "The prescription" is a medical thriller that masterfully addresses painkiller addiction and the pharmaceutical companies' involvement, as well as, the negative impact it has on those affected by it. A great read for anyone interested in the pharmaceutical industry.

This is a well-written review of The Prescription with one small confusing point wherein Chris is helping Shannon but then supporting Maria? Otherwise, it does give me the impression that I would enjoy reading this book.

Shannon's story perfectly captures the journey to using a few painkillers to a full-blown addition of drugs.

Thank you for the great review.

I have always wondered why addictive painkillers like these are actively being prescribed to patients. I'm sure this book would make people understand from the perspective of the patient in need of help. Congrats on botd!!
