I'm definitely reading this soon!!! I always enjoy thrillers and with the medical mix this can just get interesting. I'm curious to see how the story unfolds and why Jennifer has these nightmares about her life. Thanks for a great review. Congrats on BOTD.

Jennifer undergoes experimental treatment for her mental breakdown with psychedelics and experiences nightmares of a past life. This novel invokes mystery, and though it is resolved midway, the chase is fun.

The mystery regarding the protagonist's breakdown and the reasons of the doctor to heal her in that way sounds appealing and gives me a dark mysterious vibe. I will check it up. Good review! ^^

Your review completely resonates with me. I loved the gripping start of "House of Giral" - the mystery and character development were top-notch. But, the second half felt dragged out after the mystery was resolved. The excessive scientific info on psychedelics slowed the pace. Still, a dark and thrilling ride, well-written and professionally edited. Worth reading for fans of dark thrillers.

The book narrates the story of Jennifer Hart, a mentally unwell patient who undergoes an intense psychedelic therapy treatment. Although controversial, Dr. Young is determined and believes in the madness of his methods. The book covers dark themes of drug abuse and sexual violence. The author also goes into detail about psychedelics and their effects.

If the mystery is solved so early on, why does the book go for so much longer. I was keen at first as i love mysteries but the rest of the book leaves me quite meh.

This is a mystery intertwined with drama and some action. The author has carefully crafted something that will keep readers hooked. I’m also looking forward to it, especially finding out why the doctor was determined to try the psychedelic treatment on Jennifer at all costs. Is this to help the patients or just for personal gain. Thank you for the review and congratulations to the author on being selected for BOTD.

“House of Giral” by Mark Laurence Latowsky is a mystery thriller. Jennifer “Jo” Hart is the main character who was on her daily jog on Fort Lauderdale Beach when she suffered a mental breakdown, and she was rushed to Broward Hospital. Dr. Albert Young runs a program for treating mentally unwell patients and he wants to treat Jo in his psychedelic program. Jo suffers from nightmares about a life she previously lived. The sample moved at a very fast pace and convinced me that I want to read the entire book. Jo is a fascinating woman, and I am anxious to learn what happened to her at the mental hospital, if Dr. Young is able to stabilize her and figure out her reoccurring dreams of a past life. One needs to read the book to learn more about Jo and the effectiveness of Dr. Young’s psychedelic program.

Sorry about the seemingly disorganised storyline and that almost ruined the emotional appeal of the book towards the end. Thank you for your thorough and honest review.

Sounds like an amazing thriller but I might have to pass on this one because I'm not sure I can stand long readings on based on descriptions of good guys chasing bad guys with no focal element. But congratulations on BOTD!!

House of Giral has such an interesting summary! I was excited to pick this book up, but knowing about the quick resolution and long scientific explanations I'm not sure now. Nonetheless, congrats on the BOTD!

As someone interested in the medical field, I appreciate Mark Laurence Latowsky's work; it seems like a book that will help me further embrace the beauty of this calling. The sample looks fantastic. I would love to know more about Jennifer Hart's trajectory in Dr. Albert Young's psychedelic program. Excellent book and a deserved Book of the Day!
