As i always correctly guess who the culprits are in crime and mystery novels, I’m looking forward to digging this one and identify who is targeting Mack. I love reading the genre so this is right up my alley.

Shucked Up by Leelon Edwards is the third book in the Mack and Drew series but works well as a stand-alone. Drew and Mack are tasked with assessing the impact of a new oyster processing mandate in Florida, meant to prevent disease but threatening the seafood industry. When Mack is poisoned, Drew must uncover who is behind the attack. The mystery is skillfully woven, with well-placed clues and engaging twists. A secondary plot about Alex, a local whose boat is shot, adds depth to the story. Overall, it’s a compelling murder mystery with a vivid setting and enjoyable characters.

The book sounds exciting. People will go to any length not to loose their income whether it is legal or illegal. It will be interesting to figure out if they find who attempted to kill Mack and how they solve the murder mystery in general. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I love murder mysteries, so I'll definitely be checking out this book. I didn't know raw oysters were poisonous; it's fascinating to learn that fact. I wonder who poisoned Mack.

I absolutely adore murder mystery and just mystery books overall. The Nancy Drew series was an all-time favorite for me as a child. It's been a while since I last jumped into this genre, so this was a blast to the past for me. I loved how thorough this review was and how you highlighted the author's clever way of dropping clues in the plot. I always appreciate when I have to re-read a book to put the pieces together! Thanks for the review!

Quite a promising murder mystery book with an interesting setting, intriguing crime and seemingly well-written characters. I liked it enough to research the rest of the book in the series, since I hate to read only parts of the whole verses and "A Gulf Coast Mystery" firmly took place on my must-be-read shelve. Thanks for the recommendation and congrats on BOTD!

reflects a work in which the mystery is presented in an intriguing and detailed way. Edwards balances the unexpected clues and twists very well throughout the read.

I love murder mysteries. This book can be read as a stand alone but it makes me look for the first two installments of this series.

I would like to find out about the new mandate for processing oysters. Specifically, I'm concerned that the task put Mack at risk, and I'd love to know why he was poisoned."

This is an exciting plot for a murder mystery. Those oysters better be worth the hustle😂. I would love to know how Drew tackles this issue. A nice recommendation indeed!
